​Bij het uitbrengen van een single kiest een platenfirma uiteraard om dat nummer op de A zijde te zetten dat het meeste hit potentieel bevat en bijgevolg voor riante inkomsten zal zorgen. Meestal is dat ook zo en wordt het B kantje gevuld met een afdankertje. En toch zijn er, als je deze compilatie beluistert, heel wat singles waar beide kanten hits bevatten. Het frappantste is dat er singles zijn waarvan de keerzijde zelfs meer bekendheid wist te genereren dat de A zijde. Het Jasmine label bundelt op deze compilatie 32 van die B kantjes van hitsingles die vanaf de helft jaren ’50 tot begin zestiger jaren, uitkwamen. Aangezien het hitsingles betreft, bevat dit album enkel en alleen bekende artiesten, die zowel met pop, rock-’n-roll als instrumentale songs de hitlijsten bestormden. The Crickets, Jerry Lee Lewis, Duane Eddy, Johnny Burnette, Sam Cooke, Brenda Lee, Roy Orbison en Johnny Cash, zijn maar enkele lukraak genomen voorbeelden.
Bovendien krijg je van elke track ook de titel van het A kantje van de single, alsook het opnamejaar. Leuke compilatie!

​When releasing a single, a record company naturally chooses to put that song on the A side that contains the most hit potential and will therefore generate generous income. Usually that is the case and the B side is filled with a discard. And yet, if you listen to this compilation, there are quite a few singles with hits on both sides.
The Jasmine label bundles on this compilation 32 of those B sides of hit singles that came out from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s. As it concerns hit singles, this album contains only well-known artists, who stormed the charts with pop, rock and roll and instrumental songs. Nice compilation!
