COLUMBIA / LEGACY RECORDINGS ANNOUNCE THE FIRST-EVER CD & DIGITAL RELEASE OF JOHNNY CASH'S MAN IN BLACK: LIVE IN DENMARK 1971, AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2015
NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia / Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, announce the upcoming release of two essential live albums from the legendary Johnny Cash.
For the first time ever as a CD and digital audio release, Johnny Cash's Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 will be released on Friday, December 4, 2015 and is available for pre-order now.
Also for the first time ever, Johnny Cash's historic Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live)--recorded on-stage in Czechoslovakia in April 1978 and documenting the first time any major American country or popular music artist performed behind the Iron Curtain will be available worldwide as a stand-alone CD on Friday, February 5, 2016.
Previously commercially available only as a DVD (released in 2006), the audio portion of Johnny Cash's Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 can finally be enjoyed by connoisseurs for the first time as a full-length album on November 27, 2015. A special 2LP set, pressed on red and white vinyl (the colors of the flag of Denmark), is being released exclusively to independent record retailers in celebration of Record Store Day Black Friday 2015.
American musical icon Johnny Cash was at a career highpoint and in the middle of a successful tour of Scandinavia in 1971 when he was asked to star in his own concert special for Danish television. Lensed before a live audience on a Danish TV sound stage, Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 captures the essence of a Johnny Cash show of the era, showcasing performances with his touring companions--the Tennessee Three (his backup band) June Carter Cash, the Carter Family, Carl Perkins, and the Statler Brothers--on a setlist of hits, classics and songs-of-the-day including "A Boy Named Sue," "Sunday Morning Coming Down," "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues" and more as well as solo selections--"Blue Suede Shoes" (Carl Perkins) and "Flowers on the Wall" (the Statler Brothers)--and duets--"Darlin' Companion," "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "If I Were a Carpenter" (Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash), the song that won the couple the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) was recorded live at the Sportovni hala in Prague on April 11, 1978. Cash was invited to perform by the Czechoslovakian government--who acted as agents, promoters and managers for the four shows in Prague--Johnny Cash and his entourage of 19 secured work permits and set off from Berlin in a small "school bus," provided by the Czech government, to find out how audiences inside the Soviet bloc would respond to American music. The result, according to the United States ambassador, did more for U.S.-Czech relations in four concerts than he could have accomplished in four years.
Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) was first (and only) released on vinyl in Czechoslovakia in 1983, pressed on the local classical label Supraphon. American Johnny Cash fans became aware of Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) when it was issued in the U.S. as part of the deluxe box set Johnny Cash: The Complete Columbia Album Collection in 2012. While a limited edition 12" LP edition was pressed on 180 gram red translucent vinyl for Record Store Day 2015, Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) is being released worldwide for the first time as a stand-alone CD on February 5, 2016.
Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) features Johnny Cash performing 11 songs from his catalog--including "Ring Of Fire," "Big River," "Hey Porter," and other Cash hits--with backing from the Tennessee Three and vocals from the Carter Family.
While in Prague, Johnny played to more than 40,000 audience members over the course of four shows (which sold out in two days). Those historic performances helped provide a turning point in the thawing of the Cold War. For Johnny Cash, not knowing what to expect from an Eastern European audience, the prospect of playing behind the Iron Curtain was daunting. Were they familiar with him, his songs, or American country music? For the standing room only audiences in Prague--who'd heard his music on Radio Free Europe and smuggled Johnny Cash records across their borders--the chance to see America's legendary Man in Black perform was not only a once in a lifetime opportunity, it was a liberating transformative experience.
The iconic Johnny Cash had been a symbol of nonviolent rebellion and freedom to countless fans around the world; in a time and place where thoughts and actions were strongly policed, Czech natives could finally see Johnny Cash and his band and experience the Western democratic freedoms they embodied.
On October 6 of this year, Johnny Cash was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame on Nashville's Music Mile. The Music City Walk of Fame is a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have contributed to the world through song or other industry collaboration and made a significant contribution to the music industry with connection to Music City. Music City Walk of Fame induction ceremonies are free and open to the public at Walk of Fame Park in downtown Music City (http://www.visitmusiccity.com/walkoffame/).

Robby’s nieuwe album, ‘Nashville’, ligt nu in de winkel en bevat de hits, ‘I’m from the country’ en het duet met Tom De Man, ‘Driving my life away’

Legendary award-winning, hit-making group celebrate Christmas with timeless hits and holiday favorites
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 6, 2015) – Grammy Award-winning music legends, The Oak Ridge Boys, will once again celebrate the Christmas season with timeless hits and holiday classics on their 26th Annual Christmas Night Out Tour, coming to a city near you. The almost two-hour holiday show transports concertgoers into Winter Wonderland with fan-favorite hits and Christmas tunes new and old, beautiful sets, falling snow—and even a special visit from Santa Claus himself.
“There is nothing quite like an Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show. This tour has become an Oak Ridge Boys tradition and is a tremendous experience for the entire family. With a revamped stage and a fresh approach, this year’s show will be a dynamic mix of music representing every aspect of Christmas from presents and snow, to romance and Santa Claus, on to the real meaning of the season celebrating the birth of Jesus,” said The Oak Ridge Boys’ Joe Bonsall.
Each year The Oak Ridge Boys’ Christmas tour plays to packed houses across America. The 2015 Christmas Night Out Tour will take the group to more than two-dozen cities in nineteen states, from the East to West Coast, mid-November through December 23.
The group—Richard Sterban, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden and Joe Bonsall—have earned prestigious membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame (2015 Inductees) and Grand Ole Opry, among other designations. Known worldwide as one of recording history’s most extraordinary musical successes, they have charted single after single and album after album, celebrating over 41 million records sold, two double-platinum albums, and more than 30 Top 10 hits, including No. 1 chart-toppers “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue,” “Thank God For Kids,” “American Made,” among dozens more.
A mixture of traditional and contemporary songs—including religious, romantic, and fun holiday tunes—makes up the set list, which includes songs from the Oaks’ six bestselling Christmas CDs.
Bonsall added, “Folks can expect to hear old favorites like ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Jingle Bells’ mixed with some very poignant newer songs like ‘Getting Ready for A Baby’ and ‘Mary Did You Know.’ A highlight of the evening is the much-loved ‘rocking chair’ segment where each BOY rocks by the fireplace and shares personal thoughts about Christmas. So we hope you’ll come out and see us… and Merry Christmas!”

LEGENDARY SINGER/SONGWRITER CHARLIE DANIELS RELEASES SONG DEDICATED TO WRANGLER NATIONAL FINALS RODEO AND ITS CONTESTANTS
With kicking lyrics and riffs by Charlie Daniels and his band, the song emanates with the sight and sounds of rodeo. Specific lyrics include: To be one of the Cowboys headed to Nevada to try for the December Gold/Where the lights shine bright in the clear desert night and the people come to rock and roll/Where the best of the best are put to the test and the rest might as well stay home. The chorus continues with Got to make it out to Vegas to the NFR where eight seconds in the saddle can make you a star/Where the neon glitters and the party don't ever end.
"Being such a big rodeo fan, writing a song about cowboys and cowgirls, broncs and bulls and the excitement that surrounds the Wrangler NFR in Vegas every year was a natural for me,” said Charlie Daniels. “It don't get no better than that."
The collaboration with the Wrangler NFR began long ago with Daniels’ interest in the sport and the cowboys who endure long trips, muddy arenas and battered bodies to pursue the dream of competing in Las Vegas.
“Charlie is a Wrangler National Finals Rodeo icon,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. “We are proud and excited that he has penned and sung a song that tributes the experience of the Wrangler NFR and the road to get to Las Vegas.”
Entering his sixth decade producing music, Daniels has left an indelible mark on America’s musical landscape. From his Dove Award winning gospel albums to his genre-defining Southern rock anthems and his CMA Award-winning country hits, he has parlayed his passion for music into a multi-platinum career and a platform to support the military, underprivileged children and others in need.
Daniels recorded his self-titled solo album in 1970 for Capitol Records. Two years later he formed the Charlie Daniels Band and the group scored its first hit with the top ten “Uneasy Rider.” Since then the CDB has populated radio with such memorable hits as “Long Haired Country Boy,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and of course, his signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979 as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.
The CDB will perform more than 100 concert dates this year including performances on the Grand Ole Opry. The band's latest release, "Off the Grid - Doin' It Dylan," features 10 Bob Dylan songs by the CDB, and is their first CDB studio release since 2007.
Set for release on Oct. 16, Charlie Daniels brings his career spanning over 50 years full circle and is set to release Live At Billy Bob's Texas CD and DVD. The 14-track project joins The Charlie Daniels Band with the likes of legendary country artists like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart, David Allan Coe, Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, Stoney LaRue, Charlie Robison and many others as a member of the Live at Billy Bob's Texas family.
Sold out for 290 consecutive performances at the Thomas & Mack Center, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Under the new contract with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association that runs through 2024, the purse in 2015 will jump to $10 million. Qualification is based on the 2015 PRCA World Standings.
For more information on the Wrangler NFR, please visit www.NFRexperience.com or through social media at /LasVegasNFR and use #WranglerNFR. For additional details about tour dates and new release information, please go to www.charliedaniels.com.

Album Features Collaborations with George Jones, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Engelbert Humperdinck, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lorrie Morgan and Many More
Nashville, TN - Since leaving home in 1961 to pursue a career in music, T.G. Sheppard has done it all. He scored a job as a promotions executive for RCA Records, where he became friends with Elvis Presley who believed in his talent so much that he gave him his first tour bus, topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart an astonishing 21 times, and left an everlasting mark on Country music. Over the years, the smooth singer/songwriter has made a lot of impressive friends, which inspired the vision for his upcoming album, Legendary Friends & Country Duets, which is set for release on Oct. 30 via Cleopatra Records. On the upcoming project, TG collaborates with some of the most influential artists of all-time and those that he can actually call his personal friends.
“In my 40 years of recording music, this album has to be my most favorite I've ever recorded,” says T.G. Sheppard. “I'm very honored that so many of my personal friends came in to sing, with no questions asked, and gave their all.”

The arrangement and distortion of vocals is, for Findlay, one of the most important stylistic devices in her music. In 'Greasy Love' and 'Gin On The Jukebox' she shows that she is also at home with the spoken word and plays with different rhythms. The latter track is not only musically, but also lyrically reminiscent to the Rock ‘n’ Roll of the 50s.
The ‘Electric Bones’ EP is out on September the 18th through BMG Chrysalis and a PIAS distribution.
For his new single ‘Expecting the Rain’, he teamed up with The Cadbury Sisters. Tom worked with them last year on their own forthcoming album and fell in love with their close harmony singing. Says Tom: "there's an ethereal quality to their voices that I thought would add an extra layer of mystery to this already dark narrative song, singing around just one mic the recording session was blessed with magic".
Tom McRae and The Standing Band will be in concert at the Ancienne Belgique on October the 2nd!
Born on the banks of the Mississippi river, Lee's family later moved to Minneapolis. Following the death of his father in a motorcycle accident when he was 12, Frankie immersed himself in the city's music scene, appearing onstage with local heroes Slim Dunlap (The Replacements) and Curtiss A at the impressionable age of 14.
At the age of 20 Lee dropped out of college, re-invested his soccer scholarship funds in a Volvo Station wagon and embarked on a lifelong love affair with America’s open roads. Lee’s first stop was Nashville, where he met Merle Haggard on the same day he drove into town. Lee then moved on to Austin, TX where he spent 6 years working for Townes Van Zandt’s son JT building cabinets. Soon after he turned 22, Lee was diagnosed with narcolepsy, and was prescribed methamphetamine's to counteract its effects.
Over the next two years Lee struggled to find a midpoint between sleepwalking and speeding, and developed a serious drug habit in the process he has since kicked. Eventually, he was taken in by friend and famed engineer Patrick McCarthy (U2, REM, Madonna). The move proved pivotal in Lee’s songwriting career as McCarthy taught him how to listen and record the music he was hearing in his head. In 2010 Lee moved back from California to Minnesota and has spent the last 3 years working on a hog farm in rural Minnesota and developing songs for his debut album.
Maybe it’s just a coincidence or maybe it’s actually a necessity to have your roots in a steel-producing town like Sandviken to acquire a deep enough longing for somewhere else, if you happen to be dreamy, alternative guys who play music. YAST, the lo-fi romantics, are just that. The band was formed in 2007 by Carl Kolbaek-Jensen, Tobias Widman and Marcus Norberg. In 2008, they were lured down to Malmö and a couple of years ago Markus Johansson and Niklas Wennerstrand, the drummer and bass player from the postrock band Aerial, joined forces.
In 2013 they finally released their self titled debut album together with a string of glimmering singles. “Believes”, “Strangelife”, “Stupid”, “I Wanna Be Young” and ”YAST” took them to distant bloggs and caotic venues all around the world. A better international respons on a debut album is hard to find. In addition to this viral attention, they have played tons during the year including together with related artists such as TOY, The Drums, Tame Impala and DIIV. Plus a UK tour and several festivals.
Now, 2 years later, they’re back with a "lazy-live-session" version of "When You're Around", the lead off single released this spring, from upcoming album "My Dreams Did Finally Come True" (out September 18th on Adrian Recordings).
“Swirling and romantic, the track resounds with a blissed out yearning that proves impossibly infectious. “Even when I’m down, God, I love when you’re around,” the vocals echo, chiming guitars and upbeat rhythms crafting a spell it’s hard not to fall under. With it’s euphoric melody and enchanting lyrics, this is sun-drenched pop at it’s most endearing – an ode to the addictive feeling of devotion.” - The Line Of Best Fit
“This time round, YAST bring added earnestness to their routine. Whereas before the message was simply about escape – pure and unhinged – now they’re bringing romance into the equation. Suddenly this Malmö group are making their route-one message more inclusive.” - DIY
“YAST’s “When You’re Around” carries many of Swedish pop’s sonic benchmarks, from its dusky vocals to its characteristically warm production to the fact that the whole song produces mental imagery of rain collecting on a windowsill.” - The Fader

Themed after a tricked out 1950s-era hot rod, Lightning Rod launches riders from zero to 45 mph more than 20 stories up its lift hill to one of the ride’s first airtime moments. At the crest of the hill, riders face twin summit airtime hills before tackling the daring first drop. Lightning Rod races down the 165-foot drop and propels guests along its 3,800-ft. track to a top speed of 73 mph, the fastest speed for a wood coaster in the world.
“Lightning Rod reminds me so much of those colorful cars cruisin’ up and down Main Street in downtown Sevierville back when I was in high school. I remember all those souped up cars; but what I remember most were those good lookin’ boys behind the wheel with those flat top and ducktail haircuts,” Dolly Parton said with a laugh.
“I’m truly excited about this ride because it will let our guests experience something just as fast as those hot rods I remember,” she continued. “Even better, it’s the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world, so I think we’re going to see a lot of people coming from all over to peel out on the Lightning Rod.”
Located in Dollywood’s Jukebox Junction, Lightning Rod rockets riders around its massive wooden structure on an adrenaline-charged lap through the trees in the hills and valleys surrounding Dollywood. During the ride, guests experience nearly 20 seconds of airtime. The coaster train is comprised of 12 cars, carrying two passengers each, for a total of 24 people per train.
Dollywood’s development team has tapped Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) as the ride manufacturer. RMC is no stranger to out-of-the-box coaster projects, having designed a number of innovative attractions around the world. Lightning Rod employs several unique features including the lift hill launch, twin summit airtime hills, a 90+ degree banked breaking wave turn, a 90+ degree outside banked turn, and a non-inverting half loop.
Lightning Rod puts riders in the driver’s seat of Johnny Rev’s newest hot rod. After months of tinkering, Johnny invites Dollywood guests to step behind the wheel for the first test drive of his flashy new creation. Like any proper hot rod, massive header pipes and an imposing injector scoop peer out from the train’s flamed bodywork.
Lightning Rod is the newest member of The Dollywood Company’s collection of award-winning attractions. In March 2012, Dollywood opened the $20 million Wild Eagle, the country’s first wing coaster. The company introduced RiverRush, Tennessee’s first and only water coaster, at Dollywood’s Splash Country in 2013. FireChaser Express, the nation’s first dual-launch family coaster, was added at Dollywood in 2014. Dollywood mainstays Thunderhead, consistently among the world’s top five wood coasters, Mystery Mine, Blazing Fury and Tennessee Tornado round out the park’s list of innovative coasters.

Lynn Anderson, the country music legend who held the "Top Grossing Song by a Female Artist" for 27 years with the signature tune Rose Garden, passed on Thursday, July 30th at the age of 67 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center. She is survived by her father Casey Anderson, loving partner and songwriter Mentor Williams, three children, Lisa Sutton, Melissa Hempel and Gray Stream and four grandchildren.
Ms. Anderson was truly a trailblazer on the country music scene and her voice is recognized across Tennessee as the vocalist behind one of the iconic state songs Rocky Top. She's charted three #1 and 15 Top-20 albums, as well as 12 #1, 18 Top-10, and over 50 Top-40 singles throughout her career. As one of the first to be launched via television, Lynn's featured performances on The Lawrence Welk Show served as the only country music on network television at the time. Billboard would recognized her as “Artist of the Decade” for 1970-1980. In addition, she was the first female country singer to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden in 1974. Her signature single, (I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden in addition to other top hits like Ride, Ride, Ride (written by her mother the late Liz Anderson), Cry, Top of the World and Someday Soon, spring boarded Lynn into a career with over 30 million albums sold worldwide.
I love how the lyrics of Wander's Prayer [on Bridges] speaks of asking the Lord to keep me in the right direction."
One of the keys to Lynn's success was that she always made her fans a priority. Since the inaugural year of Fan Fair (now CMA Music Festival) in 1972, Lynn has only missed one year due to illness as she greatly valued the direct connection to her devoted and loving fans at that event.
She has raised millions for a variety of charities throughout her career. For twenty years, she has worked with both the Roundup for Autism and the Cariety Foundation, an organization supporting families of cancer patients. Other notable contributions were made to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation, The North American Riders for the Handicapped Association and military support organizations.
Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Full details on the services will be announced as they are made available.

Distinctive Numbered 'Box Car Series' on 200g Vinyl
“Johnny Cash transcends country music...he represents what American Music is all about!”
Hollywood, CA - Exhibit Records announces the release of a special Numbered Limited Edition album of the Johnny Cash 1964 classic, Orange Blossom Special. The 200 gram vinyl record has been remastered from the original master tapes and is handsomely presented in a sturdy old style gatefold jacket featuring the authentic album cover art, liner notes, historical recording session information and new archived photos of Johnny Cash taken in the Columbia Records Nashville studio during the recording session.
The 'Box Car Series' is so called because the back of each album of this limited edition pressing contains a tiny replica of the actual Orange Blossom Special box car that partly appears on the album cover. Each box car has been strategically foil-stamped with a unique Limited Edition number.
Johnny Cash was known throughout the world as one of the major figures of post-Hank Williams country music, he constantly sought to expand his musical horizons and avoid being pigeonholed. Cash was at his most engagingly eclectic on this early ‘60s recording of Orange Blossom Special. To begin with, "The Man In Black" covered three tunes by Bob Dylan, then the most talked-about young singer-songwriter of the dawning folk-rock era. ("It Ain't Me Babe," "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," and "Mama, You've Been On My Mind"), Nashville's essentially conservative musical establishment hardly embraced Dylan's mind-blowing lyrics, but Cash, knowing genius when he heard it, was the first major country star to cover Dylan's work. By the same token, he also included two numbers by A.P. Carter of the legendary Carter Family, who, along with Jimmy Rodgers, created the musical template that's still the model for "traditional" country, bluegrass, and some forms of folk. And Cash's unmistakable, tough-hewn baritone rendered the classic fiddle tune that is the title track, and Harland Howard’s,"The Wall," one of the prison songs for which he is known, "Danny Boy" (with a spoken word intro), the spiritual "Amen" and the time-honored story-song "The Long Black Veil." Cash's songwriting contributions include “You Wild Colorado” and the ever-relevant protest tune "All Of God's Children Ain't Free."
Orange Blossom Special finds Cash backed by the Tennessee Two, his outstanding guitar/bass tandem of Luther Perkins and Marshall Grant. And there are guest appearances by such distinguished Nashville names as tenor saxophonist Boots Randolph, pianists Floyd Cramer and Bill Pursell, guitarist Norman Blake, and harmonica ace Charlie McCoy. And June Carter joined Johnny on "It Ain’t Me Babe" for the first of many classic duet recordings they would make together over the years.
The Orange Blossom Special album by Johnny Cash is one more example of the fine music being produced by the budding Hollywood record company, Exhibit Records. The young music label has curated an eclectic catalog of classic recordings in a short time and continues to gain high praise and recognition for their exquisite mastering, high quality pressings and attention to details as displayed in the fine art and craftsmanship of their exceptional package design.

I'm Getting Ready" of "Tell Me A Tale".

Ahead of his US tour with Aerosmith, legendary Steven Tyler announces his debut Country single 'Love Is Your Name' will be released in the UK on 29 June. It is the first single from his highly-anticipated debut solo album, to be released in the Autumn.
Tyler has been residing in Nashville since January where he has been collaborating with some of Music Row's finest singers and songwriters. 'Love Is Your Name' was produced by Dann Huff and recorded in Nashville at Blackbird studios.
'I picked up and headed for Tennessee, and the FIRST DAY in the studio, I recorded a song that became my first single, and if 'Love Is Your Name,' then Nashville's my new girlfriend. I guess you could call that Beginner's Luck,' said Tyler.
Tyler is considered one of music's most recognisable and dynamic frontmen and has been cited by Rolling Stone as 'one of the greatest singers of all time.' Tyler and Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million records worldwide, he has won four Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, and an Emmy Award. In addition to having nine No.1 hits in America, 25 gold, 18 platinum and 12 multi-platinum album certifications, Tyler, along with the rest of his band members were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
