Nieuwe cd op komst!
Keyboardspeler Brian Culbertson heeft een aantal
speciale gasten die hem helpen om de funkfactor te
verhogen op zijn nieuwe cd ‘Bringing Back the
Funk’, die op 29/04 uitkomt. Onder die
speciale gasten zitten funkbassisten Bootsy Collins
en Larry Graham, saxofonisten Ronnie Laws en Gerald
Albright, en vocalisten Ledisi en Musiq Soulchild.
Uitvoerend producent voor de cd is niemand minder
dan Maurice White, de medestichter van Earth, Wind
& Fire. Culbertson benadrukt dat het erg leuk
is om met White samen te werken. Naast een
muziekicoon is hij tevens een mooie
persoonlijkheid. “The first time I met him,
went into his studio, and obviously this guy is a
huge, huge influence on my life, and mega icon in
just the pop world, the funk world, the whole
world, so... First of all he's the nicest
down-to-earth person you'll ever meet, the nicest
person, and so it's just great to hang out, swap
stories. He's from Chicago too, so we know some of
the same people, talked about the same places, and
we had a lot of fun together.”
