Kenny G naar China
Een nieuwe uitdaging voor Kenny G.
Kenny G heeft plannen om misschien voor zes maanden
naar China te verhuizen. De saxofonist heeft al
aangekondigd dat hij een muziekacademie in China
gaat ontwikkelen. Maar voor de website
SmoothVibes.com denkt hij tevens aan een verhuis
voor zes maanden naar Sjanghai volgend jaar om het
programma helpen op te starten. Kenny G, die
momenteel in Californië woont, is geen onbekende in
China. Hij bezocht het land tijdens de voorbije
jaren en trad er tijdens de slotceremonie van de
Special Olympics op. Hij heeft naar het einde van
april en het begin van mei, een aantal shows op
stapel staan in China. Hij zei: “There's a
lot of stuff I want to get done over there. My
music's super popular there, and I think I can get
a lot accomplished. I want to partner with
somebody, so I have to find the right endorsee and
the right sponsor. And maybe I'll do a master class
like once every quarter. They'll be teachers there
that can teach music the way that I would teach it.
I can show them my style of teaching and hopefully
help a lot of people get really into music.”

gerecenseerd werd. Het kwam binnen op nummer één in
de Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
