 Acclaimed UK vocalist Sarah Jane Morris and guitarist Tony Rémy present The Sisterhood 2, released on 6 March ahead of International Women’s Day. The album features nine new songs celebrating some of the most influential female singer-songwriters of our time. The project continues the journey begun with The Sisterhood in 2024, a unique songcycle honouring legendary women who shaped modern music through both songwriting and fearless artistic voices. As the project evolved, Morris and Rémy realised the story could not stop at the original ten artists. The Sisterhood 2 expands the tribute with songs inspired by Peggy Seeger, Etta James, Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Armatrading, Janis Ian, Tracy Chapman and Amy Winehouse. Each piece offers a vivid musical portrait, reflecting not only the artistry of these iconic performers but also their courage in using music to speak on issues of justice, identity and humanity. For Morris, inclusion in The Sisterhood rests on three qualities: artistic excellence, songwriting ability, and the willingness to use one’s voice with conscience. The artists celebrated here embody all three, standing as powerful examples of creativity, integrity and influence.
