Amy Grant Returns With First New Album Of Original Music In 13 Years, The Me That Remains

Release date:  may 15, 2026

Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner and 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant returns today with The Me That Remains, her first collection of original music in 13 years, released via Thirty Tigers. A deeply personal and introspective body of work, the ten-track album finds Grant reflecting on healing, resilience, connection, and grace offering a candid portrait of where she stands personally, spiritually, and creatively more than five decades into her groundbreaking career.

“I had so much fun going back into the studio again and making this project with Mac [McAnally],” says Grant. “To hear the talent every writer, musician and guest artist brought to the project put a big smile on my face. I feel like this project freed me from expectations that I didn’t even know I had.”

Produced by ten-time CMA Award winner and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Mac McAnally, The Me That Remains embraces a stripped-back, singer-songwriter sensibility first introduced with “The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm),” a reflective meditation on unity and perspective inspired by the idealism of the Woodstock era. Throughout the album, McAnally’s understated production places Grant’s unmistakable voice warm, intimate, and quietly resolute at the forefront, allowing the emotional honesty of the songs to resonate fully.

Written and recorded following significant personal challenges, including open-heart surgery and a life-altering bicycle accident, the album carries a profound sense of hard-earned perspective. Across the record, Grant balances vulnerability with strength, creating songs that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant.

In recent weeks, Grant has introduced the album through a series of high-profile appearances, including a performance of the title track on Live with Kelly & Mark and a sold-out “New York Evening With Amy Grant” at The Greene Space, hosted by the GRAMMY Museum in partnership with the Americana Music Foundation. The event marked the live debut of several songs from the project.

Throughout The Me That Remains, Grant pairs intimate storytelling with broader themes of collective healing and hope. “How Do We Get There From Here” featuring Ruby Amanfu confronts division and grief in the wake of the 2023 Covenant School shooting in Nashville, serving as a call for compassion, unity, and action. “The Saint,” co-written with longtime collaborator Michael W. Smith, explores redemption and renewal, while collaborations with Vince Gill, Sarah Cannon, and Corrina Gill highlight the enduring personal and creative relationships that have shaped Grant’s life and career.

Co-written with McAnally, the title track “The Me That Remains” serves as the emotional centerpiece of the album, directly addressing Grant’s recent health journey with striking honesty and gratitude. What emerges is a powerful testament to survival, resilience, and enduring hope.

The album’s visual presentation extends these themes of reflection and reconstruction. Grant commissioned artist Wayne Brezinka to create the cover artwork as a mixed-media collage assembled from meaningful artifacts from her life, including family photographs, pieces of a treasured quilt, seashells, her childhood Bible, and an article about her great-grandfather. In conjunction with the release, the Museum of Christian and Gospel Music in Nashville will debut a special exhibition of the artwork beginning May 8.

Now 65, Grant remains one of the most influential figures in American music. With more than 30 million albums sold and over 2.2 billion global streams, she became the first artist in Contemporary Christian Music history to earn a platinum record, top the pop charts, and perform at the GRAMMY Awards. A pioneering artist whose career has bridged church pews and arena stages alike, Grant returns with a record grounded in wisdom, perseverance, and the enduring strength of the woman who remains.

The Me That Remains is available now via Thirty Tigers on vinyl, CD, and all streaming platforms. Exclusive editions include an Orange Vinyl pressing for independent record stores and an Amazon-exclusive CD featuring bonus tracks. The Talk Shop Live exclusive Turquoise Vinyl edition has sold out. Fans can listen to or order the album and watch the new lyric video for “Please Don’t Make Me Beg” now.

Grant will celebrate the album with a special release performance tonight, May 8, at Ryman Auditorium, followed by an appearance at The Troubadour for Covenant House California’s inaugural “Speak Out” event, sponsored by Amazon and Delta Air Lines. She will also embark on a series of June tour dates with stops in New York City, Chicago, Boston, and more, alongside sold-out album signing events at Grimey's New & Preloved Music and Electric Fetus.
