Artur Menezes Puts His Own Spin on D’Angelo’s “Till It’s Done (Tutu)” Out on August 1st Guitarist, singer and songwriter Artur Menezes offers a striking reinterpretation of D’Angelo’s “Till It’s Done (Tutu)”, the second single from his upcoming EP "covered, vol. i" Out on August 1st, the track trades neo-soul subtlety for hypnotic groove, saturated fuzz, and a spacious, psychedelic arrangement that leans into Menezes’ evolving sound. Built around a tight pocket and atmospheric textures, this version reshapes the Black Messiah standout with layered guitars, deep low end, and soulful vocal phrasing. The fuzz tones, raw but controlled, add grit without overpowering the track’s pulse, nodding to Menezes’ roots while pointing toward new territory. covered, vol. i is more than a covers project: it’s a creative reset. The EP sets the tone for Menezes’ next full-length album of original material, offering a preview of the sonic direction ahead: groovier, more experimental, and less tethered to genre expectations. The first taste of this evolution came on June 13th with the release of “I Got Mine,” a heavy psychedelic blues rock take of the song by The Black Keys. Recorded independently with a close-knit team of collaborators, the track is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video that offers press and fans a look at the process behind the session.
