Award-winning Documentary Series, Music Releases and Iconic Book, All Together Now for Release this Autumn The Beatles Story… by The Beatles. On screen, on record, and in print

First released three decades ago, The Beatles’ eight-part “Anthology” series reinvented the music documentary. Instead of a standard treatment centered on an outside narrator and talking heads, “The Anthology” featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr candidly telling their own story, with all its complexities and contradictions. It introduced The Beatles to new generations of viewers and listeners and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day.

“The Beatles Anthology” Documentary Series
Now a Nine-Part Series Featuring a Brand-new Episode Nine
Streaming Exclusively on Disney+ Beginning November 26

The Beatles’ Landmark Anthology Returns — Restored, Expanded, and Reimagined
The Beatles’ groundbreaking Anthology documentary series has been fully restored and remastered, bringing new life to the definitive telling of the band’s extraordinary story. Originally spanning eight episodes, the series charts the journey from Liverpool and Hamburg to global Beatlemania, their transformative arrival in America, their role at the heart of the 1960s counterculture, their spiritual explorations in India, and ultimately, their breakup — always anchored by the music that defined a generation.
For the first time, a brand-new Episode Nine has been added, featuring never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George, and Ringo from 1994–95 as they worked on the original project and reflected on their shared history as The Beatles.
The restoration was overseen by Apple Corps’ production team in collaboration with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films, Park Road Post, and Giles Martin, who has created newly remixed audio for much of the featured music.

The Beatles Anthology Music Collections
Restored & Expanded to Four Volumes — Out November 21
Available as 12LP Vinyl, 8CD & Digital Collections
The music of Anthology—originally curated by George Martin—has been remastered by Giles Martin and now presented across four volumes. The first three double albums trace the hidden history behind The Beatles’ catalog, offering rare demos, session takes, and alternate versions that reveal the evolution of songs destined to become timeless masterpieces.
A brand-new Anthology 4, curated by Giles Martin, expands the collection with 13 previously unreleased demos and session recordings, plus new mixes of the Beatles’ Anthology-era singles. These include the GRAMMY-winning “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” newly refreshed by Jeff Lynne with de-mixed John Lennon vocals, alongside the band’s most recent UK No. 1, the GRAMMY-winning 2023 single “Now And Then” — the final Beatles song.
In total, the Anthology collections feature 191 tracks, available November 21 from Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. Deluxe 12LP 180-gram vinyl and 8CD box sets include original sleeve notes for Anthology 1–3, while Anthology 4 features new track notes by Kevin Howlett and an introduction compiled from 1996 interviews with Beatles confidant Derek Taylor. Exclusive editions at The Beatles Store add four 12-inch photo art cards in a numbered envelope.

The Beatles Anthology Book
25th Anniversary Edition — Out October 14
Complementing the restored film and music is the 25th Anniversary Edition of The Beatles Anthology book, published October 14 by Apple Corps Ltd. and Chronicle Books. Across 368 pages, John, Paul, George, and Ringo recount their story in their own words — honest, intimate, and often revelatory. Their voices are joined by those of close collaborators including Neil Aspinall, George Martin, and Derek Taylor. Featuring more than 1,300 photos, documents, and archival treasures, the book remains a definitive companion to the Beatles’ story.

Everything The Beatles created was about change. With the restored Anthology series, expanded music collections, and anniversary book, a new generation can experience not only the band’s history, but also the cultural shifts they inspired — still resonant today, and into the future.
