Ghalia Volt returns in 2026 with Burn the House Down, a powerful new album that blends hill country blues, juke joint grooves and raw rock ’n’ roll energy. Recorded live in Nashville and produced by JD Simo, the album captures Volt’s signature guitar work and fearless roots-driven sound.

Set for release on May 15, 2026 via Ruf Records, the record was created during an intense two-day studio session with drummer Chris Powell and bassist Brian Allen. Playing together in one room, with minimal overdubs and only a few takes per song, the band focused on capturing raw energy and spontaneity rather than studio perfection.

“Being true is always what resonates with me,” says Volt. “If you create music that feels right to you, people will connect with it because it’s real.”
The album reflects Volt’s wide range of influences. Tracks like “Lucifer’s Grip” echo the hypnotic groove of John Lee Hooker, while other songs explore deep juke joint rhythms, hill country blues and gritty rock ’n’ roll textures.

Born in Belgium, Volt first developed her sound performing as a street busker across Europe before gaining international recognition on the blues circuit. Her albums Mississippi Blend and Shout Sister Shout! both reached the top of the Billboard Blues Charts, establishing her as one of the most dynamic voices in contemporary roots music.

With Burn the House Down, Ghalia Volt delivers an album that is raw, immediate and electrifying proof that modern blues continues to evolve while staying deeply connected to its roots.
