Benjamin Tod Embraces Duality on Vengeance and Grace, His New 20-Track Album release date: april 17 2026 Benjamin Tod has always existed in two worlds at once. While sustaining the raw, roots-driven legacy of his original project, Lost Dog Street Band, he simultaneously built a formidable solo career one that moves effortlessly between full-band arrangements and stark, acoustic performances where nothing stands between the song and the listener. At his core, Tod channels a quiet, contemplative wisdom, but he’s equally capable of unleashing sharp-edged defiance when confronting the modern “Bro Country” machine. Deeply underground yet undeniably successful, he occupies a rare space: an artist with cult-level authenticity and reach well beyond many of his peers. That duality measured reflection versus unfiltered aggression has made him polarizing in some circles, and endlessly compelling in others. As Tod has leaned further into the country lineage of his songwriting, he’s taken personal responsibility for protecting and evolving those roots. That journey finds its fullest expression in his new 20-track album, Vengeance and Grace. The project is split cleanly down the middle. Ten tracks are recorded with Tod’s new traditional country band, The Inline Six. The remaining ten revisit those same songs in stripped-down acoustic form a nod to the fans who first discovered him through platforms like Gems on VHS and Western AF, where his songwriting stands alone and unguarded. Vengeance and Grace will be released on April 17. Though Tod has recently collaborated with Shooter Jennings on tracks like “Hell I Have” and “Outlaw Shit,” Vengeance and Grace is produced by acclaimed producer Andrija Tokic, with Tod also serving as co-producer. Previously released singles “My Pride” and “Goner” appear on the album, alongside the acoustic title track, released as a conceptual introduction to the project. “I’d like to believe justice is woven somewhere between the two, which is the usual goal, whether it’s a reward or a punishment,” Tod says of the album’s central theme. “There’s always a circulation in my life trying to balance these, and every verse in the song transitions from one to the other. If I really listen to every movement and line, it can still make me emotional.” Following the decision to place Lost Dog Street Band on indefinite hiatus—after his wife and longtime bandmate Ashley Mae announced the couple’s first child Tod has been free to explore his country influences more deeply. His 2024 album Shooting Star marked an important step in that direction, drawing inspiration from multiple eras of country music. Vengeance and Grace will be eagerly awaited by many, deliberately avoided by some, and debated by others. That tension is nothing new for Benjamin Tod. It’s the space he’s always inhabited and by fully embracing it, he’s earned one of the most loyal and passionate audiences in modern roots music. Track List: 1.Vengeance and Grace 2.
