Blues House Productions presents the debut solo album from blues powerhouse Robbin Kapsalis!

NEW ALBUM OUT 10/10

The Blues Is In the House marks a homecoming a return to the roots and traditions that shaped me as an artist. The title track features my dear friend and mentor, the late Joe Louis Walker. His commanding guitar and deep connection to the blues lend the song an authenticity that feels like a blessing from one of the masters himself.

Choosing traditional blues for my solo debut felt natural, almost inevitable. These are the sounds that formed me, and this album is both a tribute to the pioneers who came before and a way to carry their legacy forward to new generations. Every track whether an original piece or a reimagined classic is built on respect for the tradition’s raw emotion and timeless truth.

This record is more than just an expression of the blues; it’s a celebration and preservation of a vital part of American musical heritage—music that must continue to live, breathe, and be shared.

Robbin Kapsalis channels the soul of Chicago through her commanding voice, fusing the grit of traditional blues with a modern edge. Raised on the Southside in the heart of the city’s storied blues scene and later shaped by Atlanta’s rich musical culture, she delivers performances that echo the fiery spirit of Sharon Jones and the raw force of Koko Taylor while carving out a sound that is unmistakably her own.

Her reputation continues to rise across Europe, where she captivates audiences everywhere from intimate clubs to major festival stages. With her highly anticipated solo debut on the horizon, Kapsalis demonstrates that she isn’t just carrying the blues tradition forward she’s redefining its future.

If Tina Turner and Koko Taylor had a musical heir, her name would be Robbin Kapsalis. With a honeyed alto and a fire to match, the South Side Chicago native has earned a reputation on both sides of the Atlantic for her electrifying, no-holds-barred performances. And now, with this true-blue set, she takes you straight to the roots.

Kapsalis shines in dynamic partnership with producer and harmonica virtuoso Giles Robson, whose riffs and flourishes perfectly complement her smoldering vocals. Together, they’ve crafted a vibrant, contemporary blues record featuring a special guest appearance from the late, great six-string master Joe Louis Walker. Backing them is a powerhouse lineup of French musicians from Nantes, tight and unstoppable from the very first note.

The band includes guitarists Nicolas Deshayes and François Nicolleau, who make every note count, a rock-solid rhythm section with Arnaud Gobin on bass (who also opened his AGP Studio for the sessions) and Cyril Durand on drums. Arnaud Fradin founder of Malted Milk, one of France’s top blues bands—not only adds dobro on Gotta Hear the Blues, but also mixed and mastered the album at his Mojohand Studio.

The collection rolls steady and strong, blending Kapsalis’ own originals with songs from Grammy-winning songwriter Terry Abrahamson (Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker) and his partner Derrick Procell, alongside gems from the golden era of Chicago blues each one reimagined and re-energized for a new generation of fans.

As Robbin proclaims in the opener, “The Blues Is in the House” and it’s here to stay. So grab your partner, hit the dance floor, and make yourself at home.
