 Blues Icon Eric Bibb Announces Sweeping New Album One Mississippi Repute Records and three-time Grammy-nominated blues icon Eric Bibb proudly announce the worldwide release of One Mississippi on January 30, 2026. The album stands as Bibb’s most ambitious and musically expansive project to date while also marking a bold new era for Repute Records as a fully independent, artist-driven label with complete creative and commercial control. Produced by Grammy-nominated Glen Scott who also served as multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and A&R the album was recorded and mixed at Scott’s private high-end studio in Uppsala, Sweden. The result is a seamless fusion of world-class sonic craftsmanship and heartfelt, organic performances. At the center are Bibb’s unmistakable acoustic guitar and warm baritone, framed with Scott’s visionary production for a sound that is both contemporary and timeless. “As much as I love writing and recording new songs, I also enjoy discovering and covering great songs by other songwriters,” Bibb shares. “The title track, One Mississippi, was written by my high school friend Janis Ian and songwriter Fred Koller. This new collection of stories, drawn from a not-so-distant American past and our tense global present, is a call for peace, justice, and unity. Producer Glen Scott has framed each track so organically that the song and arrangement are inseparable. I’m deeply grateful to the incredible singers, players, and behind-the-scenes team who helped us tell this story.” The album features an all-star lineup, including UK guitar virtuoso Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, John Mayer), whose expressive playing graces much of the record, alongside Paul Jones (harmonica), Shaneeka Simon and Sara Bergkvist Scott (backing vocals), Zosha Warpeha and Esbjörn Hazelius (fiddle), Staffan Astner (guitar), Sven Lindvall (tuba), and co-writers Janis Ian and Fred Koller. One Mississippi follows a string of critically acclaimed releases, including Ridin’ (2023), which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album; Dear America (2021), named Album of the Year by leading roots outlets; and In the Real World (2024), recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios and hailed as some of Bibb’s finest work. With One Mississippi, Eric Bibb reaffirms his standing as one of modern roots music’s most vital voices.
