About 11 Guys QuartetPaul Lenart (guitar), Bill “Coach” Mather (bass), Chuck Purro (drums), and Richard “Rosy” Rosenblatt (harmonica) originally joined forces in the early 1980s as the 11th Hour Band, lighting up Boston’s club scene with their raw, rocking blues. Their 1985 release, Hot Time In The City Tonight, became the inaugural album for the newly formed Tone-Cool Records and cemented the group’s reputation for high-impact performances.

Over the decades, the four musicians stayed active in various musical endeavors, yet their remarkable chemistry and long-standing friendship continually brought them back together. In 2008, they convened in VizzTone’s basement studio to record a series of stripped-down, live blues instrumentals—intimate, mood-driven pieces free of excess and full of feel. After years of consideration, the quartet released these recordings in 2020 as 11 Guys Quartet – Small Blues and Grooves, earning enthusiastic support from fans, radio, and media around the world.
