Bob Corritore Collaborates with Francine Reed and Duke Robillard on New Single ‘I Guess I’m a Fool’

​The VizzTone Label Group is proud to announce the upcoming release of Doin’ the Shout!, the latest album from Bob Corritore & Friends arriving on February 28. This milestone marks Corritore’s thirtieth release, a testament to his enduring impact on the blues scene.

The album features an all-star lineup, with Dexter Allen and Jimi Primetime Smith on guitars, Chester Thompson (renowned for his work with Santana and Tower of Power) on B3 organ and bass pedals, and Steve Ferrone (of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Average White Band, and Eric Clapton fame) on drums. Together, these accomplished musicians deliver a masterclass in blues craftsmanship.

Doin’ the Shout! comprises twelve newly recorded tracks from 2023 and 2024, showcasing powerhouse vocalists such as Thornetta Davis, Oscar Wilson, Nora Jean, Francine Reed, Bobby Rush, Tia Carroll, John Primer, Jimi Primetime Smith, and Bob Stroger. The album also boasts an incredible roster of musicians, including Bob Margolin, Duke Robillard, Kid Ramos, Dexter Allen, Steve Ferrone, Ben Levin, Chester Thompson, Mark Early, and Johnny Burgin, among others.

The first single, “I’ve Got Three Problems,” featuring blues legend Bobby Rush, introduced a thrilling collaboration between generations. Written by Rush, the track spotlights his commanding vocals, while Corritore takes center stage on harmonica.

Now, we’re excited to unveil the second single, “I Guess I’m a Fool,” featuring the soulful Francine Reed. A celebrated blues, jazz, and gospel singer, Reed delivers a deeply expressive performance, turning the song into a heartfelt blues lament.

One of Corritore’s greatest strengths is his ability to bring out the best in his guest artists through carefully curated song selections and masterful arrangements. On “I Guess I’m a Fool,” his emotive harmonica work perfectly complements the song’s melancholic tone, while Duke Robillard adds a stirring guitar solo. The rhythm sectio featuring jazz icon Lewis Nash on drums and Ben Hedquist on bass creates a smooth, after-hours ambiance.
