GRAMMY® Award-winning blues, rock ’n’ roll, soul, and R&B powerhouse Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has unveiled his new single, “Bad Like Me,” available now on all streaming platforms. The vibrant, groove-driven track sets the tone for his highly anticipated new album, Hard Road, arriving Friday, September 26 via his own Red Zero Records. Pre-orders and pre-saves are open now.

Hard Road will be available in multiple formats, including digital, standard green & white swirl vinyl, and a limited-edition purple & gold swirl vinyl (500 copies worldwide) available exclusively through the official Kingfish webstore. One hundred of these limited pressings will feature a special Golden Ticket insert, redeemable for a pair of tickets to any Kingfish show of the winner’s choice.

“‘Bad Like Me’ is definitely something different,” says Kingfish. “Everyone who knows me knows I’m not a braggadocious person. But there ain’t nothing wrong with looking around and saying, ‘Hey man, I really dig this. It’s a good song… no, it’s a great song.’”

A native of Clarksdale, Mississippi a city steeped in blues history Christone “Kingfish” Ingram stands at the crossroads of tradition and innovation. Steeped in the tones of B.B. King, Albert King, and Buddy Guy, he first gained attention as a teenager for his prodigious guitar skill. Over time, he has expanded the blues vocabulary with elements of funk, soul, hip-hop, pop, and jazz, creating a modern fusion that transcends genres. His 2019 debut Kingfish topped Billboard’s “Blues Albums” chart for an astounding 91 weeks, earned his first GRAMMY® nomination, and won three Blues Music Awards, including “Album of the Year.” He followed with 662 (2021), which earned both a GRAMMY® and Blues Music Award for “Best Contemporary Blues Album,” and Live In London (2023), which garnered another GRAMMY® nomination and Blues Music Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Best Contemporary Blues Album.”

Executive produced by Ingram and Ric Whitney for Red Zero Records, with production from Patrick “Guitar Boy” Hayes, Nick Goldston, and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge, Hard Road is Kingfish’s most introspective and ambitious work yet—lyrically, emotionally, sonically, and thematically. Tracks like “Nothin’ But Your Love” and “Standing On Business” explore love, loss, perseverance, and personal growth with a harder emotional edge, balancing explosive guitar work with raw vulnerability.

“This record comes from real-life reflection,” says Kingfish. “I’ve been balancing fame, heartbreak, love, and relationships while trying to stay grounded, touring, creating, and maturing. These songs are about owning my story. They’re about learning to see myself clearly and seeing others with more compassion. That’s changed the way I write, the way I play, and the way I live.”

Hard Road is a bold, soul-stirring statement from one of modern blues’ most electrifying artists—a journey through personal transformation, told with the power, honesty, and mastery that only Christone “Kingfish” Ingram can deliver.
