 Eli Paperboy Reed is marking two decades of soulful music with the special re-release of his debut album, Sings Walkin’ And Talkin’ And Other Smash Hits! Release date: June 6, 2025 Originally recorded live to analog tape in mono in a basement studio in Allston, Massachusetts, the album was pressed as a limited run of just 300 CDs back in 2005. Reed, then in his early 20s, sold most of these self-released CDs while busking on the streets of Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This deluxe edition includes all 12 tracks from Reed’s original album, along with 14 previously unreleased songs. The first disc of the newly remastered double LP reissue features the original album plus four additional tracks recorded during the same December 2004 session. The second disc offers 11 tracks from a 2005 session recorded for WHRB radio at Harvard University. For those opting for the deluxe CD, it will contain all of the songs featured on the deluxe LP. Showcasing Reed’s humble beginnings in Boston, influenced by the sounds of Mississippi and Chicago, this release highlights his raw and authentic interpretations of down-home blues, R&B, and gospel. With this 20th-anniversary release and a celebration of two decades of unforgettable live performances, Reed firmly establishes himself as an elder statesman of the genre.
