out January 30, 2026

With a delightful groove, “This One Don’t” by blues legend Eric Bibb shows us how easily music and dance dilute conflict and strife. The video depicts real people dancing and having a good time. Bibb sings “Some songs have complicated melodies. This one don’t.” It doesn’t have to be complex this song gets you moving. It has a hypnotic vibe, something that dissolves worry, and steers you directly into feeling the joy of the music. It might be a simple melody as Bibb’s lyrics say, but the music certainly isn’t through the melodic harp and electric slide guitar vamps.

Where the album ‘One Mississippi’ is a call for peace, justice and unity in a divided world, the video and single “This One Don’t” shows us how peace and unity can so easily be had just by following Bibb’s lead. His gentle, calm vocal beckons everyone to move with the music and together. Music is a powerful healer.

Eric Bibb says, “This One Don’t’ is the first single we’ll drop from my upcoming album, One Mississippi. The song was inspired by a wonderful gig at a Blues Fever Festival in Vienna, where I played in front of a groovy crowd who love dancing to the Blues. Happily, we were able to include these folks in the video. Thanks to my ace producer, Glen Scott, and the superb musicians involved, this track is one of the funkiest I’ve ever recorded. As Alice Walker once said, ’Hard times require furious dancing.’”

“This One Don’t” features Eric Bibb on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, joined by Robbie McIntosh on electric slide guitars, Greger Andersson on harmonica, and Glen Scott on drums, percussion, bass, Hammond organ, electric guitars, and clavinet. Backing vocals are beautifully delivered by Sara Bergkvist Scott and Shaneeka Simon.

The track highlights the remarkable talents of UK-based guitar virtuoso Robbie McIntosh—known for his work with Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, and John Mayer whose expressive playing and lyrical phrasing bring depth, grit, and melodic nuance to Bibb’s soulful storytelling throughout much of the album.

Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Glen Scott, One Mississippi captures the essence of Bibb’s artistry his exceptional songwriting, his collaborative warmth, and his timeless commitment to blending tradition with renewal.

One Mississippi arrives following a period of extraordinary creativity and critical acclaim for Eric Bibb. His 2023 release, Ridin’, earned a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album and was hailed by critics as “a bluesy, folky delight… packed with melodic jams and steeped in oak casks for decades.”
Prior to that, Dear America (2021) was nominated for Blues Music Awards and named “Album of the Year” by multiple leading roots publications.

His most recent release, In the Real World (2024) recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios and also produced by Glen Scott received universal praise. Rock and Blues Muse called it “a deeply moving collection of blues and roots tracks soaked in wisdom,” while Glide Magazine described it as “perhaps the most pristine production of any of his studio work.” Americana Highways noted Bibb’s “modern-day freshness,” and Americana UK wrote: “A legendary figure of the blues, not content to rest on his reputation, but still exploring and growing.”

Across a career spanning five decades, Eric Bibb has earned three Grammy nominations and numerous Blues Music Awards, establishing himself as one of the most respected voices in contemporary roots music. With his gentle, truth-telling voice and a world-class roster of collaborators, Bibb continues to shape the modern blues landscape with honesty, grace, and groove.

The video for “This One Don’t”, directed by Jan Malmström, perfectly captures the spirit of One Mississippi a celebration of unity, joy, and the healing power of music.
