Celebrating 20 years of blues rock, Erja Lyytinen's 20th anniversary concert captured live at the iconic Tavastia Club in Helsinki in the fall of 2023 offers a sweeping retrospective of the guitarist and singer's remarkable career. In a thrilling three-hour performance, Erja Lyytinen celebrated two decades of blues rock alongside a rotating lineup of musicians who have been integral to her journey. The concert featured original rhythm compositions by her bandmates—Davide Floreno, Harri Taittonen, Miri Miettinen, Juha Verona, Kai Jokiaho, Timo Tuppurainen, Rami Eskelinen, and Iiro Kautto. Special guests Heikki Silvennoinen and Maria Hänninen joined her, adding their unique artistry to the night. Reflecting on 20 Years of Blues Rock!, recorded live at Helsinki's legendary Tavastia Club, Erja shared the roots of her musical path. “Though I was just in my twenties, I had already been in the music scene since my teens, performing with my parents' band at dance halls from the age of fifteen and doing gigs everywhere—from weddings to rock clubs. I couldn’t predict what the future held, but I knew I wanted to play lead electric guitar, sing, and write my own songs. Now, twenty years after my first festival performance, I stood on stage at Tavastia, with a sold-out crowd in front of me, sharing this moment with musicians who have been by my side since 2003.” Erja felt it was the right moment to honor her bandmates and reflect on two decades of touring, recording, and playing blues-rock worldwide. “From my debut solo album, Wildflower (2003), to my latest, Waiting for the Daylight (2022), I’ve recorded albums in the USA, England, and Finland, and performed across Europe, the US, Canada, and India. Along the way, I’ve been privileged to play with incredible guitarists like Sonny Landreth, Santana, and Jennifer Batten. Each album and performance has created memories and experiences I’ll carry with me.” This special concert at Tavastia became a tribute to the journey. "It was amazing to celebrate with my bandmates and our dedicated fans. Across three hours, we rotated through different rhythm sections, representing the music we’ve created together. Having Heikki Silvennoinen and Maria Hänninen there was an honor—they both brought such spirit to the event. And a personal highlight was having my twin sons, Massimo and Dante, announce the show! It wasn’t their first time on this stage either—they’d been here in 2013, but that time, they were still in my womb.” CD and DVD Track Listing: SET 1 Baking Blues Long Ago Grip of the Blues Let it Shine Skinny Girl Oil and Water Bed of Roses Lullaby Erja’s Contribution to Jazz Everything’s Fine Change of Season SET 2 Stolen Hearts 24 Angels Silloin Nyt Aina Bad Seed Black Ocean You Talk Dirty Wedding Day Dust my Broom (E.James) Website: erjalyytinen.com Opmerkingen zijn gesloten.
