Gerry Hundt Trio Live Studio Album One More for Me: A Contemporary Blues Statement Made the Old‑School Way

Digital Release september 18, 2026

One More For Me, named for our recording process, was recorded live in the studio, in Luxembourg between tour gigs.  We performed a couple full takes of dteach track, settling on versions we thought best; often we'd do one more take in an effort to somehow improve on a great performance, just for our own satisfaction.  Along with new songs, this album reaches far back into my catalogue, 15 years in two cases, but is wholly contemporary in its articulation.  I count myself lucky to have stood onstage with artists like John Primer, Lurrie Bell, Jimmy Johnson, Nick Moss, Andrew Duncanson, Barrelhouse Chuck, and Carl Weathersby.  In equal measure, I've drawn invaluable immediate influence from Lil' Ed, Joel Paterson, Oscar Wilson, Billy Flynn, and Glenn Davis.  Each of these tracks holds something special for me, not the least of which is collaborating with bassist/harmonica ace Renaud Lesire and drummer Tom Lehnert, whose love and knowledge of the music continually inspires me both to revisit my roots and push forward into something new.
Check out THE GERRY HUNDT TRIO recent stellar performances at 2026 CHICAGO BLUES FESTIVAL!!

Band Bios:

Renaud Lesire — bass, vocals, harmonicaA lifelong resident of Liège, Belgium, Renaud Lesire is a versatile force in the European blues and roots scene. He fronts the boogie trio WELL, WELL, WELL, delivering gritty vocals and driving guitar work. As a bassist, Renaud recently appeared at the renowned Peer R&B Fest with TEE, and his professional résumé includes performances with Bobby Rush, John Primer, Johnny Dyer, James Harman, Candye Kane, Junior Watson, and more recently Candice Ivory and Sean Mack McDonald. His multi‑instrumental skill set and deep musical feel make him an essential part of Gerry Hundt’s European trio.

Tom Lehnert — drumsLuxembourg native Tom Lehnert, hailing from the pastoral village of Useldange, brings precision, fire, and musicality to every stage he steps onto. Beyond performing, he teaches at the BluesSchoul in Differdange, shaping the next generation of blues drummers. Tom has competed in the European Blues Challenge, most recently with The Nightcallers, and his performance credits include Pugsley Buzzard, Kyle Jester, Elmore D, Tia Gouttbel, Big Dave, Fred Barretto, and Lazy Louis. His dynamic playing anchors Gerry Hundt’s European rhythm section with authority and soul.

Gerry Hundt — guitar, mandolin, harmonica, drumsA respected fixture of the Chicago blues scene, Gerry Hundt performs regularly at legendary venues such as Kingston Mines, Buddy Guy’s Legends, and FitzGerald’s. His album credits span Delmark, Blind Pig, and Blue Bella Records, with appearances at major festivals including Chicago Blues Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival.

Originally from Rockford, Illinois, Gerry began his career in Colorado as harmonica player for the late John‑Alex Mason, appearing on Mason’s final album alongside Cedric Burnside, Lightnin’ Malcolm, and Lionel Young. Returning to Illinois, Gerry spent five years touring the U.S. and Europe with Nick Moss & The Flip‑Tops, while also engineering a dozen releases for Blue Bella Records — including his own mandolin‑driven album Since Way Back (2007), which earned multiple Blues Music Award nominations.

From 2013 onward, Gerry served as manager, guitarist, and songwriter for The Corey Dennison Band, producing two acclaimed Delmark albums and earning Le Prix du Blues from l’Académie du Jazz in 2016. After 2020, Gerry co‑founded The Dig 3, whose two albums — built around Gerry’s one‑man‑band concept — received widespread praise, including a #3 ranking in MOJO Magazine’s Top Ten Albums of 2023.

Recorded in Luxembourg with drummer Tom Lehnert and bassist/harmonicist Renaud Lesire, Gerry’s upcoming album One More for Me marks his most personal artistic statement yet. Powerful, exuberant, and unmistakably rooted in Chicago tradition, it showcases Gerry Hundt as a vital voice in contemporary blues.

1) PIMENTA (2:11) - Portuguese for "hot sauce", literally it means "pepper."  This opening track is inspired by a Bo Diddley instrumental
2) CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE (3:33) - more a tribute to Lil Ed than Elmore James
3) PRETTY BABY (3:43) - a foot-stompin' party song, the kind that'd get the Zoo Bar or the Kingston Mines rockin'
4) KID MAN BLUES (3:18) - a throwback to the days I spent absorbing legendary blues mandolinist Johnny Young recordings
5) RUBY DOOBIE (2:48) - a true story, this goofy, fun number showcases Renaud on low-tuned harmonica- double harp boogie!
6) RUNNIN' WILD (3:11) - I've never thought blues and disco were mutually exclusive...
a funky Eddie C. Campbell instrumental
7) I'M GONE (3:25) - this one's been through a couple iterations and is a crowd favorite. "The Deacon" rides again!
8) RAMBLER'S BLUES (3:01)- this guitar wizard Tampa Red tune is a favorite and turned out to be a lot of fun translated to mandolin
9) STRANGE THINGS HAPPENING (2:49) - all true stories!  This is the second tune I've written while watching the news, the first being Since Way Back in 2006.
10) END OF THE DAY BLUES (4:27) - First recorded in 2007, this was written as a mandolin instrumental and gets the full Earl Hooker treatment this time around.
