In a perfect world, we’d remember every dream. For Ghalia Volt, one fleeting melody was too compelling to lose. Waking one morning with a song lingering in her mind, she quickly captured fragments of it on her phone—an instinctive act that would later spark something bigger.

“Days later, I stumbled back on the recording and thought, ‘Oh—what’s this?’” she recalls.

That rediscovery became the foundation of Volt’s electrifying new single, a track bursting with energy and optimism.

“The song is pure positivity,” says Volt. “It’s about embracing the journey, not just the destination.”

The release marks another milestone in an already dynamic career. Born in Belgium and now based in New Orleans, Volt has built a distinctive sound rooted in the blues while drawing on the raw edge of punk, psychobilly, and garage rock. Across six albums, she has continually pushed boundaries, using tradition as a launchpad for fearless experimentation.

Her latest LP, Burn The House Down (Ruf Records), captures that spirit in full force. Recorded live over two days in Nashville, the album sees Volt collaborating with acclaimed producer and guitarist J.D. Simo, known for his work with artists such as Jack White, Luther Dickinson, and Joe Bonamassa.

The video for the single “Ride” adds a vivid visual layer to the track’s uplifting message, embracing a “glass half full” outlook with a sense of freedom and spontaneity.
“It’s light and playful,” Volt explains. “The world feels heavy right now—so why not take three minutes to breathe and enjoy something uplifting?”
