Detour showcases Grammy-winning artist Boz Scaggs bringing timeless standards to life with heartfelt sensitivity and refined emotional depth.
“I never set out to make an album when I began singing these songs it started out casually, simply as a chance to explore a style of music I’ve always loved,
to sit down with a friend and play purely for the joy of it,” says Scaggs.

Celebrated by Rolling Stone as “one of rock and roll’s most soulful vocalists,” Boz Scaggs first made his mark as guitarist and singer with the Steve Miller Band before launching his solo career in 1969. Signing with Columbia Records in the ’70s, Scaggs delivered a string of acclaimed albums culminating in 1976’s Silk Degrees—a 5x platinum landmark that spawned the hits “Lido Shuffle,” “It’s Over,” and “Lowdown,” cementing his place in music history.

From touring with Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles to appearances on SNL, The Tonight Show, and Austin City Limits, Scaggs has remained a singular presence. Whether performing with The Dukes of September alongside Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald or captivating audiences worldwide, he’s sold millions of records, scored nine Top 40 hits, and built an enduring legacy spanning more than six decades.
