​Jared James Nichols releases new single 'Runnin’ Hot' from his forthcoming studio album, 'Louder Than Fate'

Accompanied by an official music video, “Runnin’ Hot” offers an early glimpse into the album’s direction, combining high-energy rock with more expansive songwriting. Co-written with Tuk Smith, the track embraces a stripped-back, riff-driven approach, highlighting Nichols’ commitment to raw, immediate rock and roll.

“‘Runnin’ Hot’ was written with a dear friend of mine and rock and roll maniac, Tuk Smith,” says Nichols. “We wanted to tap into everything we love about this music—something real, raw, and fun.”

The single was produced, mixed, and engineered by Jay Ruston, known for his work with Anthrax and Stone Sour. Additional production on the album comes from Roger Alan Nichols, whose credits include Larkin Poe and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown.

Across Louder Than Fate, Nichols expands his sound, blending heavier, guitar-driven tracks with more dynamic arrangements. Songs such as “Bending or Breaking” and “Killing Time” introduce additional textures, including keyboards and strings, while maintaining a strong focus on guitar and vocal performance.

Since his debut, Nichols has built a reputation as a commanding live performer, known for his distinctive tone and no-frills playing style. Extensive touring throughout the United States and Europe has solidified his standing as one of the leading voices in modern blues rock.

Reflecting on the album, Nichols describes it as a broader expression of his artistry: “I’ve been counting down the days until its release like it’s a personal holiday. There are plenty of riffs, but also different emotions and sounds that I’ve not explored before as a songwriter.”

To celebrate the release, Nichols will host an album launch show on June 6 at The Lexington in London, following a run of U.S. tour dates beginning in late May.
