​“It can feel powerless watching ugliness and division work overtime. I’m fighting back with the most beautiful things I can imagine — because these Weapons of Beauty never run out. Hope is a quiet rebellion. I’m here to amplify it.”

​Known worldwide as the commanding frontman of Grammy-nominated rock band Rival Sons, Buchanan steps into a more intimate, cinematic world with his first solo record a collection of deeply personal, wide-lens stories shaped by years on the road, and written in solitude in the Mojave Desert.

Featuring his signature rich, lonesome voice, Weapons of Beauty plays like a confessional love letter, exploring devotion, identity, endurance, and the American landscape. Songs such as “Sway,” “True Black,” and “High and Lonesome” reveal Buchanan at his most vulnerable and expressive, drawing from desert nights, family, memory, and the stark clarity of isolation.

Recorded in Savannah with longtime collaborator and Rival Sons producer Dave Cobb, the album features top Nashville musicians and sequencing by film director Scott Cooper. The cover artwork, painted by acclaimed realist Jeremy Lipking, mirrors the record’s romantic, windswept spirit.

A return to his storytelling roots, Weapons of Beauty marks a bold new chapter for Buchanan an artist following his own internal compass, burning a path entirely his own.
