Jay Buchanan Solo debut album 'Weapons of Beauty' out February 6, 2026 Jay Buchanan releases his long-awaited solo debut Weapons of Beauty on February 6, 2026. Best known as the powerful frontman and lyricist of Grammy-nominated rock band Rival Sons, Buchanan steps into a more intimate, cinematic, and deeply personal space one shaped by introspection, romance, and hard-earned wisdom. Written largely in isolation in the Mojave Desert, near abandoned gold mines, Weapons of Beauty draws on themes of enduring love, resilience, and hope as a quiet rebellion. Buchanan describes the album as an act of resistance: “I’m weaponizing the most beautiful things I can imagine and aiming them at the abyss.” The record unfolds like a confessional love letter, rooted in love not as fleeting passion, but as something built to last. Standout tracks such as Sway, High and Lonesome, and the title track showcase Buchanan’s unmistakable, earthen voice and his return to patient, story-driven songwriting. Recorded in Savannah, Georgia with longtime collaborator Dave Cobb and a select group of Nashville musicians, Weapons of Beauty embraces wide-open arrangements and a cinematic sense of space. The album was sequenced by director Scott Cooper and features cover artwork by acclaimed realist painter Jeremy Lipking. Weapons of Beauty is not simply a solo debut it’s a revelation of Jay Buchanan at his most vulnerable and fully realized. Tracklist: 1. Caroline 2. High And Lonesome 3. True Black 4. Tumbleweeds 5.
