Jovin Webb Pays Tribute to Delbert McClinton on New Single “Every Time I Roll the Dice”

Louisiana blues singer and songwriter Jovin Webb has released “Every Time I Roll the Dice,” the third single from his forthcoming sophomore album, Son of a Sinner, due out September 18 via Blind Pig Records. The release arrives alongside an official music video, offering another preview of the highly anticipated follow-up to his debut album.

Originally made famous by Texas roots-rock icon Delbert McClinton, Webb’s take on “Every Time I Roll the Dice” was produced in Nashville by multi-GRAMMY Award winner Tom Hambridge, who previously played drums for McClinton. The new version stays true to the spirit of the original while showcasing Webb’s commanding vocals, even featuring a harmonica solo in the same place as McClinton’s classic recording.

“Delbert’s recording is one of my favorites—that voice is one of a kind,” Webb said. “I wanted to bring my own energy to it without losing what makes the song so special. Getting to do it with Tom, who actually worked with Delbert, made it even more special.”

The new single follows the previously released tracks “Gunpowder & Lead” and “Pray for Me,” both taken from Son of a Sinner. Produced by Hambridge, the 11-song collection blends blues, gospel, and Southern rock, expanding on the heartfelt storytelling that first introduced Webb to audiences on his debut album, Drifter.
  
Son of a Sinner will be released on September 18 on Crimson Red vinyl, CD, and digital platforms, and is available to pre-order now.
