Soars embarked on a journey of audience building, recognizing that each new fan was won over one at a time. With every performance, he gained fresh admirers, steadily constructing what he knew could evolve into a flourishing career if he remained committed. "It felt organic," reflects Soars, whose latest album, 'Brick By Brick', encapsulates his gradual yet deliberate approach. "The album mirrors the gradual progression of my musical career, each track a testament to the foundation laid, brick by brick." Scheduled for release on June 30, 2024, this marks Soars' inaugural album with Little Village, offering a spotlight on his diverse musical prowess. Alongside his roots in blues and folk, Soars delves into a rich tapestry of influences encompassing gypsy jazz, country, Latin rhythms, rock, and even heavy metal. "There was no grand scheme behind this album," he admits. "Many of these songs emerged during the pandemic, born out of experimentation with different sounds and styles. It all just fell into place." Among the standout tracks is "Things Ain’t Working Out," a poignant ode to heartache driven by Soars' emotive guitar work. Meanwhile, "Keep Good Company" urges self-reflection, underscored by introspective lyrics and Soars' masterful guitar melodies. His rendition of Little Milton's "That’s What Love Will Make You Do" showcases his reverence for the blues tradition. "Can’t Keep Her Off My Mind" electrifies with its hillbilly-country fervor, featuring Soars on banjo and dynamic interplay with Anne Harris's lively fiddle. Collaborations with vocalists Annika Chambers and Paul DesLauriers add depth and texture to the track. Exploring his gypsy jazz influences, "Jezebel" captivates with its sinewy rhythm, capturing the irresistible allure of a captivating woman. For those familiar with Soars, his genre-spanning approach comes as no surprise. His ability to seamlessly transition between musical styles has become a hallmark of his live performances. A testament to his talent, Soars clinched the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in 2009, earning the prestigious Albert King guitar award.
