In 2018, Kyla Brox clinched the prestigious UK Blues Challenge title, followed by a victorious run at the European Blues Challenge in 2019. Adding to her accolades, she was crowned Best Female Vocalist in the 2019 European Blues Awards. Now, she returns with a scorching new release, 'Live at Köniz Castle,' featuring a curated selection of tracks from her highly acclaimed last two albums.

Capturing an elusive intimacy with a room full of strangers is a rare feat, but Kyla Brox achieves just that in 'Live at Köniz Castle,' a recording from the Kulturhof situated within the grounds of Switzerland's historic Köniz Castle, on March 25, 2023.

Kyla's music hinges on the belief that blues and soul are inseparable, melding the power of Afro-American music with a distinctive Lancashire flair. Experiencing the full force of her vocals is to be convinced that Kyla Brox stands as Britain's finest soul singer to date.

With a balanced mix of two covers and 14 original compositions, Kyla's artistry shines through her masterful portrayal and empathetic storytelling. Some of her songs are deeply influenced by personal experiences and the cherished individuals who have touched her life. The timeless 'Bluesman's Child,' dedicated to her legendary father, Victor Brox, exemplifies this sentiment. Among the covers, Kyla's rendition of 'Hallelujah' stands head and shoulders above the rest—an undeniable, objective truth one can confirm with a single listen.

The road-tested ensemble, comprising vocals, guitar, bass, and drums, deviates from conventional blues-rock norms whenever Kyla adds her enchanting flute melodies, evoking a primal African essence.
For discerning aficionados of blues guitar, it's worth noting Paul Farr's ability to channel the emotive essence of luminaries like Peter Green and Jimi Hendrix, expertly shadowing Kyla's voice. Drummer Mark Warburton and bassist Danny Blomeley synchronize seamlessly, regulating the intensity with precision, whether holding back or surging forward.
