​Early to bed is the first taste from the new album. The video for the song will be out on Wednesday 11/3. The album, which is simply called Morphine, will be released on 7 th of May!

For a number of years, Bjørn Berge has proven himself to be a unique guitarist and formidable live artist. With his acoustic guitars, he moves mountains and blows listeners off the track with hard-hitting arrangements.
Berge's fierce and dynamic guitar playing on acoustic guitar travels between blues, rock, funk and ballads.

The guitarist from Haugesund has previously released 13 studio albums and a live album. In 2001 and 2002 he received the Spellemannspris ( Norwegian Grammy )in the Blues category, and the Notodden Blues Festival Blues Prize in 2001.

Bjørn Berge's new album is dedicated to the American cult band Morphine ( fronted by the late Mark Sandman) – a band that has been among his biggest favorites since the 1990s.
Morphine's distinctive expression, with baritone saxophone, two-string bass and dark, minimalist nerve, made a deep impression on Berge early in his career. This album is both a tribute and a personal look back at the music that has followed him through several decades as an artist.
– Morphine was something completely unique. They had groove, rawness and soul in a way that struck me immediately, and that still inspires me today, says Berge.

On the tribute album, Bjørn Berge puts his clear musical imprint on selected songs from Morphine's catalog, with respect for the original material – but also with the characteristic blues-based energy and
expression that he is known for. With a baritone guitar instead of a baritone sax in his hands, he brings out the Morphine vibe in the songs!

The release marks a meeting between two musical worlds, united by atmosphere, nerve, uncompromising musicianship and respect!
Bjørn Berge has so far released 14 albums. He also tours regularly in Europe and North America.
