LONDON’S “FIRST LADY OF SOUL” ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF HER FORTHCOMING LIVE-ALBUM “LIVE IN LIVERPOOL” RECORDED DURING THE “NEW ADVENTURES” TOUR IN 2019 P.P. Arnold’s career has been nothing short of remarkable. From her early days backing Ike & Tina Turner as one of ‘The Ikettes’, to collaborating with legendary artists like Mick Jagger, The Small Faces, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Barry Gibb, and Primal Scream, her influence has spanned decades. She’s also lent her distinctive backing vocals to a range of iconic artists, including Billy Ocean, Peter Gabriel, The KLF, Paul Weller, and Roger Waters. 2019 marked a milestone for London’s “First Lady of Soul” when she released The New Adventures of… P.P. Arnold, her first album of new material since the early 1970s. Featuring collaborations with Paul Weller, Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene, The Specials, and her son Kojo Samuel, the album was widely acclaimed. Following its release, Arnold embarked on a UK tour with a nine-piece band, which culminated in the recording of a new live album, Live In Liverpool. Live In Liverpool captures the thrilling finale of Arnold’s 2019 tour and was recorded at the historic Grand Central Hall in Liverpool on October 18th, 2019. The album includes P.P. Arnold classics like ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ and ‘Angel of the Morning,’ along with live renditions of tracks from her 2019 album, such as ‘I Believe’ and ‘Hold On To Your Dreams.’ The record also features standout covers, including Paul Weller’s ‘Shoot The Dove,’ The Beatles’ hit ‘Eleanor Rigby,’ and Steve Cradock’s ‘Magic Hour.’ Reflecting on the concert, Arnold recalls, “The gig at the Grand Central Hall was as magical as the beautiful architecture of the building. I was over the moon with how well the concert had gone. Steve Cradock had pulled off the dream of performing the album live, and it sounded so close to the original recording. The band was brilliant, the girls sounded like angels, and I felt so good, so pleased that it had all gone so well.” Set to be released on October 18, 2024, Live In Liverpool will be available on 180g black double vinyl, CD Digipak, and across digital platforms via earMUSIC. As she approaches sixty years as a solo artist, P.P. Arnold shows no signs of slowing down. Fans can look forward to seeing her perform live once again in late summer 2024, as she tours to promote Live In Liverpool. Tracks: 01. Though It Hurts Me Badly (Live) (5:22) 02.
