UK-based Last Music Co. proudly announces the upcoming release of Lonnie Mack: Live In Louisville 1992 on October 24, 2025. This rare live recording, long known to exist but never commercially available, captures the pioneering blues-rock guitarist at his fiery best. Mack’s trailblazing six-string style left an indelible mark on Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, and countless others who followed in his footsteps.

Marking the first commercial release of Mack’s music since his passing in 2016, Live In Louisville 1992 will be available as a double black vinyl LP, CD, and digital download. Pre-orders are available now.

Reflecting on his career, Mack once told the Cincinnati Inquirer: “It’s a great honor to be able to inspire other artists. What you do in this business, your whole thing is giving stuff away. But that makes you feel good; makes you feel like you’ve really done something.”

Born Lonnie McIntosh in Indiana, Mack was already a sought-after session musician working with the likes of Hank Ballard, Freddie King, and James Brown before stepping into the spotlight. In 1963, his instrumental reworking of Chuck Berry’s “Memphis, Tennessee” and his explosive single “Wham!” redefined the rock guitar solo and launched a career that would span more than four decades.

On July 23, 1992, guitar legend Lonnie Mack took the stage as a last-minute replacement at Louisville’s Kentucky Center for the Arts. The show, broadcast live and recently restored, now forms the basis of Lonnie Mack: Live in Louisville 1992, available October 24, 2025, via Last Music Co.

Backed by drummer Jeff McAllister, keyboardist Denzil “Dumpy” Rice, and bassist Bucky Lindsey, Mack delivered a blistering seven-song set blending his country- and gospel-tinged blues-rock guitar style with his soulful vocals. Highlights include “Camp Washington Chili,” “Satisfy Suzie,” acoustic favorite “Oreo Cookie Blues,” and a medley of his groundbreaking hits “Memphis” and “Wham!” The Louisville Courier-Journal praised the performance as “an evening of amazing chops, deep blues and percolating grooves.”

A pioneer of the electric guitar whose influence shaped players from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Jeff Beck, Mack first shot to fame in 1963 with his instrumental hits “Memphis” and “Wham!” His innovative Flying V tone and gospel-infused phrasing defined the blues-rock sound for generations.

Live in Louisville 1992 marks the first new commercial release of Mack’s music since his passing in 2016. The album will be available on double black vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
