Luke Winslow-King announces the release of “Don’t Worry Your Mind,” the latest single from his forthcoming album Coast of Light

Release date: march 27, 2026

“‘Don’t Worry Your Mind’ began as a quiet lullaby in waltz time—an intimate, almost whispered melody—before it found its pulse and stepped into the light,” explains Luke Winslow-King. “In the studio, we heard it leaning toward the urgency of Wilson Pickett and the haunting slide-guitar spirit of Elmore James, and it naturally evolved into a laid-back shuffle. We didn’t want to force the songs into a mold—we let them reveal themselves. What starts as a cradle song can end up a driving shuffle. There are no rules. That spirit lives at the heart of Coast of Light.”

Known for blending jazz, blues, classical, and folk into a cinematic, roots-driven sound, Winslow-King pairs fluid guitar work with vivid songwriting and a gruff-but-tender vocal delivery. Consequence has praised his music as “steeped in the muddy Delta blues,” while Austin Chronicle highlights his “wide range of songwriting worthy of comparison to Jason Isbell and John Fullbright.”

Coast of Light finds Winslow-King exploring love, loss, hope, and resilience through the lens of Spanish music and culture. Inspired by time spent in Cádiz on Andalusia’s Atlantic coast, the album carries a breezy seaside atmosphere infused with the emotional depth and rhythmic pulse of flamenco. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Roberto Luti in Livorno, Italy, the record features Simone Luti (bass), Piero Perelli (drums and congas), Nicola Venturini (Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes, piano), and Giacomo Riggi (mallet percussion).

Originally from Cadillac, Michigan and now based in Spain, Winslow-King cut his teeth busking songs by Woody Guthrie before spending 15 formative years in New Orleans, where he forged a lasting creative partnership with Luti. Across eight previous albums, he has recorded with George Porter Jr., Little Freddy King, and John Boutté; shared stages with Jack White, Taj Mahal, and Rosanne Cash; and saw his song “Everlasting Arms” performed by Dr. John for the Playing for Change series.
Rooted in tradition yet driven by restless curiosity, Winslow-King continues to push American roots music forward—on his own terms.
