Marc Broussard Teams With Joe Bonamassa on Two New Tracks From Upcoming Album

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Marc Broussard has released two new singles, “I’m Going Home” and “Trying To Do Right,” offering an early glimpse into his forthcoming album Chance Worth Taking, set for release April 17 via KTBA Records, the label founded by renowned guitarist Joe Bonamassa.

The project marks Broussard’s first full-length collection of entirely original material rooted in blues and soul, showcasing his signature blend of heartfelt songwriting and powerful vocals.

Both new tracks feature standout guitar contributions from Bonamassa, whose dynamic playing adds depth and intensity throughout. “I’m Going Home” is driven by a steady groove and vibrant horn arrangements, with Bonamassa delivering electrifying riffs that complement Broussard’s emotive performance.
“This is one of those songs that speaks to my undying love for my beautiful wife,” says Broussard. “Joe played incredibly on this track, which really reflects his passion for the guitar.”
In contrast, “Trying To Do Right” takes a more introspective turn. The slow-building blues ballad opens with Bonamassa’s expressive guitar work before unfolding into a deeply personal and confessional chorus led by Broussard’s vocals.

“‘Trying To Do Right’ came in a flurry,” Broussard explains. “It took me back to the early days of my relationship—times when I wasn’t the best partner. There’s a sense of regret, but also gratitude in being able to channel those memories into my songwriting. Joe’s playing adds an extra layer of emotion to the track.”
Both songs were co-written with longtime collaborator Calvin Turner during an intense, fast-paced writing period.

“These tracks came out of an initial burst of creativity over just a few days,” Broussard notes. “Calvin brought in the hook and arrangement for ‘Trying To Do Right,’ and once inspiration struck, I couldn’t step away from the process.”

Produced by Bonamassa, Josh Smith, and Turner, Chance Worth Taking features 14 tracks, including previously released songs “Fever” and “No More.” Bonamassa contributes guitar to 10 tracks and co-writes three songs, while Smith and Turner play key roles in shaping the album’s sound and arrangements.
