Release Date USA: February 27, 2026

Acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Matthew Curry returns with his powerful new album, One For The Ride, a vibrant and deeply personal collection that captures the full spectrum of his artistry — from blistering, virtuosic guitar work to intimate, soul-stirring songwriting. Rooted in authenticity and emotional depth, the album explores life on the road, love, celebration, reflection, and classic Americana storytelling, all delivered with Curry’s unmistakable grit and heart.

Born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois, Curry began playing guitar at the age of four, was performing publicly by eight, and leading his own band by eleven. His dynamic fusion of blues, rock, southern rock, and traditional country has earned him a devoted international following. Over the years, Curry has toured alongside legendary artists including The Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, Journey, and Don Felder, with Steve Miller famously calling him “a wonderful guitar player and great songwriter in the league of Stevie Ray Vaughan.”

One For The Ride is a sonic snapshot of Curry’s life on the road and the influences that shaped him. The album opens with high-octane southern rock energy, channeling the raw spirit of bands like ZZ Top and the timeless tradition of road-tested rock ’n’ roll. Tracks such as “Rum Stumblin’” deliver infectious, blues-soaked party grooves, while “Born Behind the Wheel” leans into gritty riffs and stacked harmonies steeped in the southern rock sounds of Curry’s youth.

Balancing the fire, the album also reveals Curry’s more reflective side. “Dancing in the Kitchen” offers warm acoustic intimacy, inspired by a spontaneous anniversary moment at home. “Rather Float a River” blends blues, funk, country, and Americana, reflecting Curry’s love of the outdoors and the easy, soulful rhythm of life on the water.
The record closes with a blazing rendition of “Whiskey Rock-A-Roller,” the album’s sole cover and a heartfelt tribute to Curry’s deep admiration for Lynyrd Skynyrd and the enduring southern rock tradition.

Curry’s artistry continues to earn admiration from his peers. Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers praises the album, stating:
“Matthew Curry is such an incredible talent! On One for the Ride he has a chance to demonstrate his sensational skills as a writer, singer, and guitar player. The range and variety of the performances on this album will keep you going back for more… Matthew is the real thing!”

With One For The Ride, Matthew Curry delivers his most confident, dynamic, and authentic work to date — a celebration of musical roots, heartfelt moments, and the unfiltered joy of guitar-driven American music.

Matthew Curry will tour Europe in 2026 as part of the Blues Caravan, alongside Laura Chavez and Elise Frank.
