Lyal Strickland
Ghost Light at the Gillioz

Release Date : July 11th

Lyal Strickland returns to the spotlight with "Ghost Light at the Gillioz," a raw, six-song EP that marks both a homecoming and a rebirth. The live recording strips away the veneer at the historic Gillioz Theatre in Springfield, Missouri where Strickland has performed through various stages of the theatre's renovation, from bare floors to opening for headlining artists.

Known for his ability to weave compelling narratives through song, Strickland's repertoire draws from his acclaimed albums including "Preservation" and "Balanced on Barbed Wire.” Fan favorites like "The Hotel Maid" and "O Arkansas" are reimagined in this historic space, where every nuance of his distinctive vocal delivery echoes through the theatre, accompanied only by the ghost light and a small intimate audience.

Shining the light on the raw energy of a songwriter who has found his way back to truth, "Ghost Light at the Gillioz" captures the intensity of an artist with clarity and conviction. Deep cuts from previous albums like "Misery and Mischief Prone" take on new meaning in this stage of Strickland's journey while new songs like "Gatherin' Dust" speak to the feeling of spinning your wheels in tumultuous times.

This collection of live recordings serve as both a document of Strickland's evolution as a performing songwriter and a testament to the power of deeply personal songs scaled up to fill the magnificent space of one of Missouri's most storied venues.
