Mumford & Sons have announced the release of their sixth studio album, Prizefighter,

out
February 13 via Glassnote Records.

Co-produced and co-written with Aaron Dessner of The National at his Long Pond Studio in upstate New York, Prizefighter captures the band at their most instinctive and inspired. The 14-track record includes their brand new single, “Rubber Band Man (with Hozier),” which debuted last week.

Arriving just seven months after the release of RUSHMERE — the band’s long-awaited, chart-topping album from March 2025 — Prizefighter continues a remarkable creative streak. Reuniting with Dessner, who also worked with the band on Wilder Mind, Mumford & Sons wrote more than an album’s worth of songs in just ten days, channeling a sense of openness and rediscovery throughout.

Marcus Mumford’s lyrics wrestle with resilience, determination, and hope, sung with a renewed mix of confidence and urgency. For Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane, the recording sessions became a return to roots — days spent writing in Hudson cafés and nights gathered around the kitchen table at Long Pond, capturing the spontaneity and joy of making music together again.

That spirit of collaboration extends across the album, which features guest appearances from Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, Gigi Perez, and Aaron Dessner himself. The result is a vibrant, communal record that celebrates connection, creativity, and the band’s continued evolution.

Speaking about the project, Marcus Mumford shares:
“We feel like we’re hitting our prime as a creative force. We’re putting everything we have into this now, using all our experience to fully embrace who we are. We’re comfortable in our own skins these days. Prizefighter is us going for it—serious and playful, sometimes bruised but always hopeful. We’re nowhere near done yet. I honestly believe we’re at the start of something we don’t want to let up on. I’m more excited to be in this band than I’ve ever been.”
