Nathaniel Rateliff and Gregory Alan Isakov Release Breathtaking Music Video for New Duet "Flowers"7/3/2025
Nathaniel Rateliff and longtime friend Gregory Alan Isakov have unveiled a stunning new music video for their duet, "Flowers." Directed by Rateliff’s partner, Taylor McFadden, the video brings a breathtaking visual interpretation of the song. The track, already receiving widespread critical acclaim, is out now. The duo recently performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, marking Isakov’s late-night television debut. "Flowers" arrives ahead of a major milestone for Rateliff & The Night Sweats: their first-ever arena tour, including a landmark headline show at Madison Square Garden on March 27, with Isakov as a special guest. The Making of the "Flowers" Video Rateliff shares, “The concept for the ‘Flowers’ video came from Taylor’s vision. She had heard different versions of the song over the years and was excited Gregory and I were finally putting it out. While in Santa Fe, New Mexico, listening to mixes, we decided to collaborate on visuals for the song. She brought in her producing partner, Lavinia Jones Wright, and their company, I Play Different Productions, to bring the idea to life. Watching her work and creating something beautiful together was so inspiring. Gregory is such a great friend, and working on both a song and video with him made this experience incredibly special. The day of the shoot was filled with laughter and love.” Isakov adds, "There’s a palpable joy working alongside Nathaniel. We’ve been close friends for so long, and Taylor’s vision as a director is equally impressive. They both bring such ease to the creative process, which is something every artist strives for.” McFadden reflects on her inspiration, "It was a natural progression to collaborate on the ‘Flowers’ music video with Nathaniel. I had heard many versions of the song over the years and was thrilled that he and Gregory were finally sharing it with the world. My vision was to create an otherworldly, larger-than-life floral meadow, using strong black-and-white silhouettes to emphasize their powerful vocals and bring a sense of magic to the song.” A Longstanding Musical Bond Rateliff and Isakov’s friendship dates back to their early days in the Denver-Boulder music scene. They first recorded “Flowers” as a demo during Rateliff’s 2020 solo album And It’s Still Alright, but the track remained unfinished for five years until they recently revisited it. The song was mixed and mastered with help from Patrick Meese, Mark Anderson, and David Wilton. The video was produced by Lavinia Jones Wright and I Play Different Productions—full credits below. “FLOWERS” VIDEO CREDITS Directed by: Taylor McFadden Produced by: Lavinia Jones Wright For I Play Different Productions Director of Photography: Sam Tetro 1st Assistant Camera: Helena Grunsteidl Gaffer: John Murphy Key Grip: Eric Fulcher Production Assistant: Carson McCoy Art Direction & Florals by: Jordan McFadden | Highland Petals Art Assistant: Justice McFadden Stills Photographer: Devon Wycoff Hair & Makeup: Crystal Nardico Edited by: Lucy Munger Color by: Company 3 Colorist: Jaime O’Bradovich Color Producer: Nick Krasnic Title Design by: Maxwell George website: nathanielrateliff.com gregoryalanisakov.com Opmerkingen zijn gesloten.
