Rising country singer/songwriter Noelle Toland sheds light on a new perspective in her latest single, Nashville Numbers. This song is available on all digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more. The much anticipated single, which premiered by Think Country, solidifies her place as a songwriter and artist in the country music scene. Following the success of her latest 90’s country covers as well as her previous releases and heartfelt EP, Noelle’s brand-new release, Nashville Numbers, takes a new approach on a familiar trope. As a sort of response to Morgan Wallen’s Tennessee Numbers, Noelle flips the script to give the other side of the story. While Wallen’s track highlights a situation of a man struggling with a breakup and if she would just answer the phone, he’d tell her he still loves her, Nashville Numbers tells the story of a girl who leaves town to mend a broken heart and “shows how some heartbreaks can almost ruin a city for you,” she shares. This is a play on Music City’s widely used eponymous “Nashville Number System.” Swapping Wallen’s “865” with Nashville’s “615” area code, we learn how those three numbers take her back to the happier times when they were together, and we see how painful it is for her to revisit those days. The juxtaposition of lyrics in the two songs provides a whole new perspective and shows how different heartbreak can feel for each person involved. Nashville Numbers demonstrates Noelle’s uniquely creative skills and is described as “metafiction at its finest.” There is a play on lyrics here, but the single holds even deeper analogies and contrast than what appears on the surface. Aside from 615 being Nashville’s area code, lines like “three chords in, truth pours out” and “I held out for a diamond, you held back your love” reference the number system – a “diamond” means to hold out on a specific note, and Noelle laments that she held out for a ring but he held back his love for her and their relationship ultimately fell apart. Produced by Smith Curry alongside audio engineer Mark Lonsway, this song was written by Noelle alongside country hitmaker Steve O’Brien (“Rock My World (Little Country Girl)”) and Justin Love. Noelle also personally designed the cover art with the help from her photographer Lindsey Torres, using the actual Nashville Numbers chart that was written by her producer and used by the musicians on the day of the recording at Pentavarit Studios, located in Berry Hill. To stay up-to-date, About Noelle Toland: This passionately captivating country artist modernizes and personalizes old-school country music into her own sound and niche. While many assume the genre’s audience is limited exclusively to the south, Noelle Toland, who hails from a 2,000-person vineyard town in North Plains, Oregon is proof that this simply isn’t true. Following the success of her recently released 90’s country covers as well as her original releases and EP, this rising country artist received critically-acclaimed praise in numerous publications, achieved success on curated playlists including “New In Country” on Apple Music, been nominated for Country Evolution’s Artist to Watch, and received national and international airplay in Australia, Europe, Ireland, London, Switzerland, and the U.K. She has surmounted almost 200K streams on Spotify and her music video for Sun Will Rise received critically-acclaimed praise and was immediately added to The Country Network, broadcasting to over 40 million households. She has performed at numerous fairs and festivals including CMA Music Festival and is an accomplished actress with roles in several films, movies and TV shows including a stint in Criminal Minds.
