Rising singer-songwriter Nathan O’Regan has released his rollicking new single “Crazy For You”. The uplifting new track is lifted from Belfast-based O’Regan’s forthcoming debut album ‘Olive Branch’, set for release September 18th O’Regan is spending the summer playing festival dates before joining acclaimed rock band Cardinal Black as the support act on their UK tour this October—except in Belfast, where he’ll headline The Empire Music Hall on October 10th. It’s a fitting nod to his strong following in his adopted home city. His upcoming album, Olive Branch, was recorded at Attica Studios in Donegal run by Villagers guitarist Tommy McLaughlin on Ireland’s west coast. The album was produced by Gareth Dunlop, a fellow Belfast-based artist, close friend, and mentor to Nathan, alongside Michael Keeney. One standout track, “Crazy For You,” is among several co-written by O’Regan and Dunlop for Olive Branch, and was one of their earliest collaborations. “Crazy For You came about when I brought a guitar riff to Gareth one morning over coffee,” Nathan recalls. “It came together really quickly we just have a natural writing chemistry. The song captures the rush of a new romantic connection, that mix of nerves and excitement when you're trying to make a strong first impression and show you're truly interested.” O’Regan and Dunlop also co-wrote the previously released singles “Better Days” a tender ballad written for O’Regan’s partner and “Killer,” a swaggering, country-blues stomper that channels the grit and soul of Nashville’s finest. Two of the album’s tracks were written at the legendary Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where O’Regan collaborated with renowned songwriters Brian Maher (Taylor Swift, Billy Ray Cyrus, Charles Esten) and James LeBlanc (Jason Aldean, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts). The sessions yielded “Poetry In Motion” and “Get Down To It,” both of which fuse Southern soul with O’Regan’s signature storytelling. Originally from Cork and raised in a musical family, O’Regan signed his first major label deal at just 16 after his band won a national radio competition. “To be honest, I was terrible at first,” he laughs. “But those early writing sessions with professionals taught me so much.” After four years and a shelved debut, he was dropped a familiar story for many young artists in the major label system. Relocating to Belfast marked a turning point. “There was always a gig on somewhere, and it was a great way to make money and gain experience,” he recalls. “I didn’t wait for the perfect venue I just played anywhere that would have me.” O’Regan found a thriving creative scene in Belfast. “The city really punches above its weight. There are so many world-class musicians here, it’s hard not to be inspired.” In 2023, he signed with Belfast-based independent label Zenith Cafe. “It feels like a full-circle moment,” says O’Regan. “I’ve been working toward this for nearly half my life. It’s a fresh start an introduction, in a way — and the beginning of something I’ve always believed in.” Nathan O’Regan ‘Olive Branch’, Track List: 01 Killer 02 Crazy For You 03 Missing Out 04 Good Day To Be Me 05 Better Days 06 Hey Man 07 Family No.2 08 Help Myself 09 Baby Steps 10 Get Down To It 11 Put These Hands To Work 12 Poetry In Motion Website: nathanoregan.net Opmerkingen zijn gesloten.
