 Robert Jon & The Wreck Release New Single “I Wanna Give It” An Heartfelt Standout from ‘Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes Written during the still, uncertain days when touring had come to a standstill, “I Wanna Give It” draws its roots from late-night porch jam sessions in San Juan Capistrano. “It felt like a bit of a throwback,” says lead guitarist Henry James. “We’d stay up with acoustic guitars well into the night, doing whatever we could to keep our spirits up.” The song came together with the help of longtime collaborators Ian Cullen and Shane Krevoy who also co-wrote fan favorite “Oh Miss Carolina” and was brought to life under the direction of producer Dave Cobb. The result is a warm, wistful blend of country-tinged rock that feels both deeply personal and immediately familiar. Lyrically, “I Wanna Give It” explores the thrill of fearless love and impulsive escape diving headfirst into the unknown with someone, despite the risks. “It’s not necessarily a story with a happy ending,” James reflects, “but there’s no regret in it.
