M.C. Records is proud to announce the August 22 release of Heavy On The Blues, the highly anticipated label debut from award-winning blues artist Rory Block. The album features ten tracks recorded in 2025, showcasing Rory’s masterful acoustic and slide guitar work alongside her unmistakable vocal style.

Heavy On The Blues includes stunning renditions of blues classics such as Little Milton’s What Kind of Man Is This, Koko Taylor’s Walking the Back Streets, Jimi Hendrix’s The Wind Cries Mary, and Buddy Guy’s Stay Around a Little Longer. The album also features an original composition, Can’t Quit That Stuff, inspired by a personal conversation with blues great Hubert Sumlin.

Adding to the excitement, the album includes guest performances by three of the world’s most revered blues guitarists: Ronnie Earl, Jimmy Vivino, and Joanna Connor.

Rory Block is widely recognized as one of the foremost interpreters of traditional country blues. A seven-time Blues Music Award winner and gold-record-selling artist, she has released 36 albums over the course of her storied career. Block continues to innovate and inspire through her work as a producer, author, ordained minister, and founder of the Church LIVE performance venue in rural Chatham, NY.
