Samantha Fish Unleashes New Live Single “Don’t Say It” Ahead of Upcoming Album Paper Doll Live Acclaimed guitarist, singer, and songwriter Samantha Fish has released “Don’t Say It,” the latest single from her forthcoming live album Paper Doll Live, arriving June 12 via Rounder Records. Fish’s first official live album, Paper Doll Live captures the raw intensity and commanding stage presence that have established her as one of the most electrifying performers in contemporary blues and roots music. Recorded at the historic Bijou Theatre, the album showcases Fish and her band at full power in front of a packed audience, elevated by the soulful harmonies of Nashville gospel icons The McCrary Sisters. “‘Don’t Say It’ is one of those songs that builds gradually — a slow-burn reveal where one person is fighting for the validity of a relationship while the other is emotionally checked out,” says Fish. “It was incredible having the McCrary Sisters on this track. They weave in and out of the harmonies and add so much heart and depth.” From soaring performances of “Lose You” and “Sweet Southern Sounds” to a fiery rendition of “Kick Out the Jams,” the album captures a band fully immersed in the moment unfiltered, ferocious, and deeply connected to its audience. “There’s a fire that comes across in live performance that doesn’t always translate in studio albums,” Fish explains. “The stage lays all of that bare.” Rooted in Kansas City’s rich blues tradition and inspired by artists ranging from Prince and Leonard Cohen to the legends of Mississippi Hill Country blues, Fish has built a career defined by fearless musicianship and emotionally charged live performances. From cold-calling local bars as a teenager to headlining international festivals, she has developed a live show that balances grit, vulnerability, and explosive energy. “If Paper Doll was a declaration of artistic power,” Fish says, “Paper Doll Live is the sound of that power unleashed.” With Paper Doll Live, Samantha Fish delivers more than a live recording she captures the visceral connection and musical intensity that have made her one of the most celebrated live performers in modern roots music. A two-time GRAMMY-nominated artist, Samantha Fish is widely recognized as one of the leading voices in contemporary blues and rock. The Kansas City Hall of Fame inductee and multiple Blues Music Awards winner has earned international acclaim for her explosive guitar work, powerhouse vocals, and genre-defying songwriting. Her acclaimed catalog including Runaway, Black Wind Howlin', Wild Heart, Chills & Fever, Kill or Be Kind, Faster, Deathwish Blues, and Paper Doll has consistently topped the Billboard Blues Charts. A commanding force on stage, Fish has toured extensively worldwide, appeared at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, shared stages with artists including Slash and The Rolling Stones, and performed at Crossroads Guitar Festival founded by Eric Clapton. She continues to push creative boundaries while delivering performances that resonate deeply with audiences around the world. Opmerkingen zijn gesloten.
