Samantha Fish Unveils Digital Deluxe Edition of Paper Doll Featuring Two New Tracks, Including a Neil Young Cover

Samantha Fish, the genre-blending blues-rock powerhouse, proudly unveils the digital deluxe edition of her acclaimed album Paper Doll. This expanded release features two brand-new bonus tracks from the original recording sessions: “Dead Armadillo,” co-written by Samantha and producer Bobby Harlow, and a captivating cover of Neil Young’s classic “Don’t Let It Bring You Down.”

Speaking about her interpretation of Neil Young’s song, Samantha shared:
“I began performing ‘Don’t Let It Bring You Down’ during the pandemic. The lyrics carry a dark, almost bleak tone, yet there’s an underlying sense of hope and change. Even if Neil meant it to be sarcastic, it struck a chord with us in that moment—and audiences really connected with it—so we decided to record our version.”

Reflecting on “Dead Armadillo,” she added:
“It’s a driving rock track built on a looping groove that keeps building momentum. I love crafting songs with simple structures—the chords stay the same, but the hooks and melodies evolve as it goes. Lyrically, it’s about recognizing that not everyone will like or love you, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be part of every situation you cross paths with. It’s about self-acceptance and learning to stay unbothered by what doesn’t serve you.”

Samantha Fish continues to earn widespread acclaim as one of the defining voices in modern blues. She made her national television debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she performed in support of her ninth studio album, Paper Doll—released shortly after her Grammy-nominated collaboration with Jesse Dayton, Death Wish Blues.

Her dynamic musicianship and fearless artistry have landed her on the covers of Guitar World, Premier Guitar, Vintage Guitar, Guitar Thrills, and Blues Matters. Guitar World lauds her as “one of the most promising young blues performers,” while No Depression applauds her genre-defying style, noting that she can “take you on a journey through country, blow your blues away, or slam you with some raucous rock.” Garden & Gun hails her as “one of the new guitar greats,” and Guitarist Magazine proclaims, “Samantha Fish is a force to be reckoned with.”

Many of Samantha Fish’s guitar heroes have shown immense admiration for her work. She was personally invited by Eric Clapton to perform on his Crossroads Tour, joined Slash’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Tour, and has shared the stage with icons such as The Rolling Stones and Buddy Guy.

Fish has forged her signature sound by weaving together a rich tapestry of influences—from the hypnotic pulse of Mississippi Hill Country blues to the explosive energy of arena-ready rock. Performing more than 250 shows a year, she continues to command stages around the world, touring extensively throughout the U.S., U.K., Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Looking ahead, Fish is set to headline a powerhouse lineup celebrating the cutting edge of contemporary blues, further cementing her place as one of the genre’s most electrifying live performers.
