Canadian soul and blues vocalist Sherri Harding has unveiled the official video for “Bad Weather,” a standout track from her latest album, Storyland, available now via Instant Replay Music. Created by Christopher Cooper—the son of album producer and songwriter Dick Cooper—the video pairs the song's message of resilience with striking imagery of storms, fire, floods and eventual calm.

Driven by Harding’s rich, soulful vocals, “Bad Weather” blends blues, R&B and jazz into an uplifting anthem about weathering life’s toughest moments. Anchored by the reassuring refrain, “It’s just a little bad weather, surely gonna pass,” the track is elevated by shimmering guitar, warm organ and lush string arrangements that complement its hopeful spirit.

Although Storyland was recorded in Ottawa, the album carries the unmistakable influence of the legendary Muscle Shoals sound. Guitarist Kelvin Holly, known for his work with Little Richard and The Amazing Rhythm Aces, returned after appearing on Harding’s previous album, while the iconic Muscle Shoals Horns recorded their parts in Alabama. Grammy-winning engineer Jimmy Nutt completed the project with a mix at The NuttHouse Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals.

Written and produced by Richard Cooper, co-founder of the Cooper Brothers, Storyland presents a cohesive collection of story-driven songs that place Harding’s expressive voice at the forefront. The album seamlessly blends Canadian songwriting with the warmth and authenticity of Southern soul, showcasing performances shaped by years of touring and lived experience.

“As a singer, my job is to tell the truth emotionally, and Storyland gave me the space to do that,” Harding says. “The songs are honest stories, sung from the heart. Every drive home in terrible weather at 3 a.m. after a not-so-great gig has been worth it to bring me to this time and place. I’ve definitely paid my dues, but I wouldn’t change a darn thing.”

Harding first gained national recognition with her Muscle Shoals-recorded debut, A Million Pieces, establishing herself as a Canadian artist with deep Southern soul roots. With Storyland, she continues to build on that foundation, delivering timeless songs rooted in honesty, craftsmanship and emotion. Frequently compared to Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi and Mavis Staples, Harding has earned a reputation for performances that are both powerful and deeply heartfelt.
