Swamp Dogg Unveils Deluxe Edition of 'Blackgrass' and Premieres New Video for "Rocky Raccoon"

Legendary artist Swamp Dogg has released a deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed album Blackgrass: From West Virginia to 125th St, featuring a cover of The Beatles' classic "Rocky Raccoon" and a brand-new track titled "Fools Like Me."

This deluxe release marks a major milestone for Swamp Dogg, whose album debuted at #2 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums Chart. It comes on the heels of several notable achievements, including his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, a special showcase at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and multiple appearances at AmericanaFest.

Sharing his inspiration for covering "Rocky Raccoon," Swamp Dogg says, "I love songs that paint pictures, give you reasons to think, and let you identify with them. Paul McCartney did just that with ‘Rocky Raccoon,’ which is why I recorded it!"

Blackgrass was produced by Ryan Olson (known for his work with Poliça, Gayngs) and recorded with an all-star lineup that includes Noam Pikelny, Sierra Hull, Jerry Douglas, Chris Scruggs, Billy Contreras, and Kenny Vaughan. The album is a wild fusion of past and present, mixing sacred and profane themes in classic Swamp Dogg style. It seamlessly blends folk, roots, country, blues, and soul, featuring collaborations with renowned artists like Margo Price, Vernon Reid, Jenny Lewis, Justin Vernon, and The Cactus Blossoms.
