The Waterboys unveil The Waterboys Present: Rips From The Cutting Room Floor (Extras from Life, Death And Dennis Hopper), a genre-spanning companion release to their acclaimed Sun Records debut Life, Death And Dennis Hopper. Written and self-produced by Mike Scott and the storied international rock collective, the album features 16 brand-new recordings, including “The Next Time I Saw Elvis,” “Still Raging On,” and an alternate take of “Golf, They Say.”

Formed in 1983 by Scottish songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Mike Scott, The Waterboys have long been celebrated for their ever-evolving sound and adventurous spirit. Their early era delivered towering rock-and-pop landmarks such as This Is The Sea and its signature hit “The Whole of the Moon.” Over four decades, the band has continually reinvented itself while remaining anchored in Scott’s vivid songwriting and restless musical curiosity.

The band’s creative journey has produced numerous milestones, from the groundbreaking blend of rock and folk on Fisherman’s Blues to 2011’s An Appointment With Mr Yeats, which set the poetry of W.B. Yeats to powerful contemporary arrangements. Scott’s work has earned major accolades, including an Ivor Novello Award for “The Whole of the Moon” and the Americana UK Award for Lifetime Achievement. His songs have been covered by an extraordinary range of artists, among them Prince, U2, Rod Stewart, Ellie Goulding, Tom Jones, The War On Drugs, The Killers, Bleachers and many more.

With Life, Death And Dennis Hopper and its newly released companion Rips From The Cutting Room Floor, The Waterboys continue to expand their creative horizons, presenting a daring song cycle inspired by the life of the iconic American actor and cultural trailblazer.
