Tommy Prine Shares Reflective New Single “Standing In The Middle” Off Forthcoming Ep Love Circle Out August 20th Rising singer-songwriter Tommy Prine has released his newest single, “Standing in the Middle,” a moving meditation on gratitude, homesickness, and emotional presence. The track is the latest preview of his upcoming EP, Love Circle, due out August 20. Anchored by warm instrumentation and Prine’s hallmark lyrical sincerity, “Standing in the Middle” embraces the duality of joy and longing, finding beauty in feeling it all. Written on the road during a spell of homesickness, the song was sparked by an everyday moment that offered unexpected perspective. “‘Standing in the Middle’ is a song about being grateful for feeling all things, even the not-so-great things,” says Prine. “I was feeling homesick and watching the Olympics to take my mind off it when I realized how lucky I was to miss something that deeply. Lucky like I’d just won the Gold Medal—and like all Olympic winners, I took a bite out of it!” The single arrives on the heels of Prine’s memorable appearances at Newport Folk Festival. On Friday night, he surprised fans with a sold-out performance at Jane Pickens Theater, closing out the evening’s festivities. The following day, Jesse Welles invited him onstage for an emotional rendition of “Angel From Montgomery,” honoring his father’s enduring legacy—a standout moment of the weekend. “Standing in the Middle” marks a new chapter in Prine’s evolution as both a songwriter and a person—learning to pause in the whirlwind of emotion, memory, and movement. It follows the EP’s first single, “Purple Paint,” which offered an intimate and musically adventurous glimpse into his upcoming project. Love Circle Track List 1. Purple Paint 2.
