The album showcases Robillard at the height of his powers, reaffirming his status as one of the most respected and versatile guitarists in American roots music. “Over the course of his glorious career, now extending more than half a century, guitarist Duke Robillard has made many superlative albums. Few have captured his versatility any more captivatingly than Blast Off!,” writes acclaimed music critic Bill Dahl in the album’s liner notes. Universally recognized as a master guitarist, singer, songwriter, and bandleader, Robillard has released an extensive catalog of solo recordings, collaborated with numerous legendary artists, and earned widespread critical acclaim. He is a co-founder of the influential band Roomful of Blues and notably succeeded Jimmie Vaughan as a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
