Tyler Bryant Kicks Off Solo Journey with New Single “Falling Up”
A stripped-down, impassioned return to his roots signals a fearless new chapter for the celebrated guitarist and songwriter.

Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter Tyler Bryant is best known as the high-voltage frontman of Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown—but his creative reach extends far beyond the stage. As a producer, he’s earned back-to-back Grammys for Best Contemporary Blues Album with Larkin Poe’s Blood Harmony and Ruthie Foster’s Mileage on Sun Records.

Now, Bryant is breaking new ground with the release of his first solo single, “Falling Up,” available now on all major platforms. More than just a song, it’s a bold experiment in instinct-driven, unfiltered creation—crafted entirely on his own terms. Joining him on the track are Graham Whitford (guitar), Diego Navaira (bass, background vocals, percussion), and Emilio Navaira (drums, background vocals).

Born from an unplanned jam session with Graham Whitford and Texas brothers Diego and Emilio Navaira, “Falling Up” clocks in at under two minutes. “One verse. No polish. All fire,” says Bryant. “It’s a reckless moment captured on tape the kinda thing I grew up on.”

The song marks a bold creative shift for Bryant, who has spent the past five years producing acclaimed records for other artists, including Grammy-winning albums by Larkin Poe and Ruthie Foster. “Falling Up” embraces spontaneity, imperfection, and pure instinct. “My whole career has kinda felt like falling up,” he says. “This track is about chasing what excites me and letting it fly.”
