Tyler Bryant Releases New Single and Video “Mama Like To Rock”

​Tyler Bryant returns with his third solo single, “Mama Like To Rock,” co-written with his wife, GRAMMY Award-winner Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe. The track continues Bryant’s shift toward an Americana-inspired sound while celebrating family, legacy, and love.

Following years fronting Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Bryant has been building a distinct solo identity. His debut solo single, “Falling Up,” earned Classic Rock Magazine’s Track of the Week and Hot List honors, while its follow-up, “Planted,” introduced a more vulnerable and stripped-down approach to his songwriting.

Inspired by mornings spent on the porch with his newborn son Jesse, “Mama Like To Rock” emerged as a joyful, rootsy tune. The song also draws on the legacy of a cherished nylon-string guitar inherited from Lovell’s grandfather—now the couple’s main songwriting instrument.

Recorded at Bryant’s Nashville studio Crosstie Recordings, the track features Scott Mulvahill (upright bass), Chris Powell (drums/percussion), Simon Maartensson (keys), Bryant (guitar/vocals), and Lovell (vocals).

“Becoming a father has made me think a lot about what gets passed down,” Bryant says. “This song is a celebration of my wife, my son, and the life we’re building together.”
With “Mama Like To Rock,” Bryant continues expanding his creative horizons, making music that is honest, heartfelt, and entirely his own.
