Vaneese Thomas Warms The Season With Soul-Stirring New Single “Winter Blues”

Soul and blues vocalist Vaneese Thomas returns with a powerful new single, “Winter Blues,” delivering the rich emotion, timeless musicianship, and unmistakable vocal mastery that have made her one of the most respected voices in contemporary roots music.

“Winter Blues” captures the raw ache of loneliness and longing that settles in during the coldest months of the year. Anchored by Thomas’s signature blend of soulful depth and bluesy grit, the track marries classic blues tones with modern production, creating a sound that feels both comfortingly familiar and stunningly fresh.

Bio Vanasee Thomas:

Born into one of Memphis’s most storied musical families, Vaneese Thomas stands as a powerful creative force in her own right. The daughter of the legendary Rufus Thomas, and younger sister to the “Memphis Queen” Carla Thomas and acclaimed keyboardist Marvell Thomas (R.I.P.), Vaneese carries forward a legacy that has shaped American music for decades. Her sound—rooted in soul, blues, R&B, gospel, and jazz—reflects both her heritage and her own masterful artistry.

Celebrated as a vocalist, songwriter, producer, and actor, Vaneese has built a multifaceted career marked by vocal depth, emotional storytelling, and musical sophistication. She has collaborated with many of the world’s most influential artists, including Luciano Pavarotti, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, and has worked under the guidance of legendary producer Phil Ramone.

Her international performances include Pavarotti & Friends concerts in Modena, Italy; the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland; Michael Jackson & Friends concerts with Luther Vandross in Seoul and Munich; and major European soul festivals in Porretta, Narni, and Perugia. Vaneese has also taken the stage with the Baltimore and Colorado Symphonies in Too Hot to Handel under conductor Marin Alsop.

Whether on stage or in the studio, Vaneese Thomas captivates audiences with a voice that is both timeless and unmistakably her own—a rare blend of power, warmth, and emotional resonance that continues to solidify her standing as one of the premier vocalists in contemporary American roots music.
